  1. Here’s more on Florida’s clamp down on Big Tech.

If you have R’s running your state, I’d be pushing this there too. You can’t wait for Dems, who all the censorship benefits, to act.

    Hit them where it hurts.

“Florida vs. Big Tech: Gov. DeSantis Doubles Down On Protecting Floridians From Big Tech Censorship

“These platforms have changed from neutral platforms that provided Americans with the freedom to speak to enforcers of preferred narratives”

“As a small government Constitutional conservative, it is with no small degree of irony that I note my growing sense that we may very well need some government intervention to disempower Big Tech and its governing partisan ideology that has driven a singular and biased stranglehold on the internet’s conservative voices.

It’s been coming for a while, of course. Still, even those of us who predicted this Great Purge a decade ago are mainly aghast at the speediness of our great nation’s decline from being a strong, bold, and innovative land of the free, home of the brave to a cowering bunch of double-mask-wearing simpletons using their iPhones to search Google for “most violent ways to defeat capitalism and stuff.”

As I blogged last month, red states can “use state legislatures to establish state laws that protect a given state’s citizens from online censorship of lawful speech based on political affiliation.”

Despite Democrats and their activist media arm pushing narratives to the contrary, we are not one American state over which any party or president can “rule”; we are a republic and a union of republican states—each with its own constitution, its own laws, and its own executive, legislative, and judicial branches.

In this spirit of republicanism, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has announced a Floridian crackdown on Big Tech to combat its targeting of conservatives for silencing, bans, and other means of suppression of those they deem to be engaging in socio-political wrong think.”

  2. So now the Biden admin plan is to purge the military of patriots and views that oppose their own.

Like good little 3rd world commie bastards.

“Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has called on the services to conduct a 60-day stand-down on the issue of extremism in the military, prompted by the Jan. 6 attack on the the Capitol and subsequent reports of both active-duty and former service members attending a rally calling to overturn the 2020 election and the riot that ensued.

Austin held a meeting Wednesday of the service secretaries and Joint Chiefs, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby told reporters, to ask them about their concerns and ideas for improving the situation.

“Even though the numbers might be small, they may not be as small as we would like them to be, or we believe them to be,“ Kirby said of the prevalence of troops with extremists views, ties or activities. “And that no matter what it is, it is not an insignificant problem.”

    I call BS.

  3. Good. He and other Dem govs who used the same flawed tactic need to pay a price for the deaths they caused.

  4. They earned it, and it should be even lower. Most of the 18% probably work in media. 🙂

“American trust in the mainstream media hits an all-time low with just 18% of Republicans saying they believe journalists after the 2020 election

New data from Edelman shows that American trust in media is at all-time low

56% believe that journalists and reporters are purposely trying to mislead

58% think news organizations are more interested in ideology than facts

Only 18% of Republicans trust the media versus 57% of Democrats

As a whole, 46% of Americans of all political stripes say they trust the media

Media trust is at lows around the world indicating a global phenomenon

Poll finds CEOs and business leaders are the most trusted figures in America”

“Trust in the media is at an all-time low, with less than half of all Americans and just 18 percent of Republicans saying they trust traditional media outlets.

The new data from Edelman’s 2021 Trust Barometer was shared with Axios, and found that trust in social media has also hit an all-time low of just 27 percent.

‘This is the era of information bankruptcy,’ said Richard Edelman, CEO of Edelman, in a statement.

‘We’ve been lied to by those in charge, and media sources are seen as politicized and bias[ed]. The result is a lack of quality information and increased divisiveness,’ he said.

The poll found that 56 percent of Americans agree with the statement that ‘Journalists and reporters are purposely trying to mislead people by saying things they know are false or gross exaggerations.’ ”

Pat yourselves on the back. You earned it.

  7. This cracked me up.

  9. And counterpoint, from someone who knows better from first hand experience…..

From William A. Jacobson , Professor of Law, Cornell Univ.

“Legal Insurrection launches ‘Critical Race Training In Higher Education’ website

“The website is a resource for parents and students who no longer can assume they will be left alone … the entire ideology of CRT and ‘anti-racist’ training is that ‘silence is violence.’”

“Critical Race Theory and the corollary Critical Race Training have been a major focus at Legal Insurrection.

The impact on education has been enormous, and destructive. What started on college campuses has moved to primary and secondary education, and into the broader culture. Government agencies and private corporations now are some of the worst offenders of the obsessive focus on race.

Legal Insurrection Foundation, a tax-exempt research and investigative entity, spent six months researching and documenting CRT in higher education. We created the most comprehensive database, currently over 200 colleges and universities and growing, with an interactive map by state. Each school page contains not only a listing of ongoing activities, but also a custom search function to obtain the most up-to-date information.

Fox News covered the launch, Website launched to track critical race theory teaching in higher education:”

“A newly-launched website features a free database with information on critical race theory (CRT) curricula and training in higher education – adding to the already-growing effort to track how the controversial ideology is permeating U.S. institutions.

William Jacobson, the Cornell law professor who founded the conservative-leaning site “Legal Insurrection,” created the database as a comprehensive resource to “empower” American parents and students as the ideology makes its way into classrooms across the country.

Jacobson told Fox News on Tuesday: “The website is a resource for parents and students who no longer can assume they will be left alone … the entire ideology of CRT and ‘anti-racist’ training is that ‘silence is violence.’”

He added: “As we head into college application and selection season, we need to get parents, in particular, to focus on CRT that will be forced on their kids.”

Launched over the weekend, CriticalRace.org is the product of a six-month effort at Legal Insurrection and currently includes information on 200 colleges and universities, Jacobson said. In addition to cataloging CRT efforts, the website lists a series of resources purportedly “exposing the falsity and harm” caused by CRT. The homepage currently features a map that allows visitors to search for CRT incidents by state.

“People need to understand that Higher Ed is the source of the problem,” Jacobson told Fox News. “It provides the ideological mothers’ milk for activists, and trains the people who then go onto jobs in government and primary/secondary education, and the ‘journalists’ who push this coverage.”

More details from the CriticalRace.org “About” page:”

CRT is meant to divide and and separate us into racial groups. It’s segregationism and identity politics. That’s bad for any religion that seeks to unite followers.

  10. It seems that all Trump appointments are either being fired or asked to resign.

“An official appointed to his post by former President Donald Trump is suing the Biden administration over a termination threat he alleges is illegal.

Trump appointed Roger Severino, a former Heath and Human Services official, to the Administrative Conference of the United States in August 2020 and reappointed him last month.

Severino’s term was supposed to last for three years. But he alleges he received an email this week from Gautam Raghavan, the deputy director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office, asking him to resign. If not, Raghavan warned that he would be terminated.

“President Biden has no authority to terminate Mr. Severino’s appointment to the Council under 5 U.S.C. § 595(b) or Article II of the Constitution. Mr. Severino seeks a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction to prevent this unlawful removal,” states the Feb. 3 lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia against Biden and Raghavan.”

  11. THE NAVARRO REPORT: Full Three-Volume Report Into One… Peter Navarro’s full three-volume report on election fraud is now packaged into one document for all to view and download. Navarro points out that It’s explicitly designed to be a useful evidentiary reference guide for the upcoming Senate impeachment trial.

  12. DeSantis and I agree?? The gov’t needs to intervene in business and the economy. Now the only question is why and for whom. I say the governmetn intervene to provide free health care, pharma and educaiton and to control activities that harm the “commons” (ie the environment) And Desantis wants to protect the politicians right to control media. I like more rationale better.

Neo-con ideology is crashing on its own ideology. After proclaiming let the market decide, they see they are losing the free market of ideas and so its time to break their own principles and regulate. Not much different then the recent moves on Wall St where they demand regulations be stripped until someone else used the lack of regulation to make them lose billions then suddenly they want the gov’t intervention.

I doubt most of these proposals will survive a court challenge. On a technical level, I imagine social media falls under inter-state commerce. Other problems related to property rights. You can’t force a corporation or indiviudal to accept posts of speech they oppose — ie you can ‘t force a home owner to allow any political signs be posted on their front law. Social media rules are mostly about limiting liability…..if you force twitter to post speech that results in lawsuits, is twitter liable or is the gov’t of Florida.

The protection of free speech excuse doesn’t work here. Senator Hawley claimed he was being muzzled — he made this claim on the front page of the New York Post, on Sunday news shows, on Tucker Carlson and on the floor of the Senate. He’s not being muzzled. You’re not entitled to Twitter nor more thay you are entitled to have every letter you write to the local newspaper published. There’s enough forums for politicians to make their point they aren’t entitled to all of them. The level of entitlement here is amusing.

  13. The daily mail piece was amusing. My first question was what did they mean by media? what is mainstream media? Do people trust the daily mail? So I read it and I actually followed the link to the report…..and I don’t trust these media sources. I think they are delibrately twisting words and surveys to push their own ideological agenda. And therein lies the problem — if you ask people do you trust the media without actually defining what is media the question is meaningless. Scrolling throught original survey the ideological bias is clearly on display.

The best part specifically in the Daily Mail article was the delibrately distorted graph they use in the begining of the article. By starting the scale at 45 not 0 and then using small increases, they have deliberately created the impression that trust in media has dramitcally declined last year whereas it only dropped 5-10% and given a pandemic mixed with an election, its not surprising. I need to save this when I teach biased data mangement and the media.

Now why has trust in the media declined — perhaps because one group of media has told its viewers that an other block of media is lying, perhaps its because the president has said four years its lying. FOX, AON, Newsmax, etc all media sources themselves has said the rest of the media has been lying. Just maybe, its FOX, OAN etc that has been lying to otheir viewers. If we shouldn’t trust the media, then we shouldn’t trust them when they say other sources are lying. An indication that they are lying is this wonderful video — Newsmax has said Dominion had comitted fraud but when DVS threaten to litigate, Newsmax was quick to back off. The video is Mike Lindell, the Pillow Guy tries to claim Dominion had commited fraud but Newsmax now has a prepared legal statement which contriadicts their previous reports. The fun starts at the one minute mark if you don’t want to listen to Brain Williams.

  14. Curious — the Republicans stripped Steve King of his cmttee positions but didn’t strip Greene of her positions. What’s the difference between the two, I would think approving of a call to execute Pelosi would top anyting King did. McCartney blundered here — never should have put her on Educaiton cmtte in the first place — a real insult to the people of Sandy Hook and Parkland. Eleven Repubicans broke ranks to vote with the Democrats here — McCartney’s leadershiop is taking a beating.

  15. Wouldn’t want to offend their Chinese overlords….

  16. Nice set up — Matt Gaetz asked them to recite the Pledge but they already do it every morning in the House. Gaetz is pandering. And turning patrtiotism into mere rite and ritual for political gain.
