Prayer Requests 9-11-20

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 36

I have a message from God in my heart
    concerning the sinfulness of the wicked:
   There is no fear of God
    before their eyes.

In their own eyes they flatter themselves
    too much to detect or hate their sin.
The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful;
    they fail to act wisely or do good.
Even on their beds they plot evil;
    they commit themselves to a sinful course
    and do not reject what is wrong.

Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens,
    your faithfulness to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the highest mountains,
    your justice like the great deep.
    You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.
How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
    People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They feast on the abundance of your house;
    you give them drink from your river of delights.
For with you is the fountain of life;
    in your light we see light.

10 Continue your love to those who know you,
    your righteousness to the upright in heart.
11 May the foot of the proud not come against me,
    nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.
12 See how the evildoers lie fallen—
    thrown down, not able to rise!

  1. My women’s Bible study leader (married for only about a year and a half) is dealing with her husband’s parents both having Covid. The MIL also has Parkinson’s so she is in the hospital, and the FIL was sent home. Please pray for them. The FIL has taken care of his wife in her years of affliction and they are not use to being apart. Thank you fof praying.

  2. Praying for salvation and comfort for those who lost loved ones on this date 19 years ago, and for the children who don’t remember the parents they lost but miss them anyway.

  3. My firefighter friend is “only” in Clovis. They went to dinner last night and had to wait 2 hours for wings. So many people came up to thank them and talk to them, when they were exhausted, that while they were polite, they finally left to get take out.

    Who would have thought?

    A thank you, obviously, is sufficient, particularly when talking with exhausted heroes,

  4. Praise: One of those things that could have been bad —

    I was driving back from Hollywood today on the 110 (I was in the fast lane but was well behind the work truck ahead of me which was really going at a too-fast clip) when a ladder bolted from their open truck bed, flying end-over-end through the air right at me. I was able to hit the brakes and swerve and miss it all as it landed on the road bed on the right side of my lane. (It landed just before I was almost at the point where it was coming at me.)

    Whew. Drivers behind me also seemed OK, luckily it landed toward the inside line of the lane and not in the middle. Even just driving “over” something that big lying “flat” on the road could cause a serious accident.
