Prayer Requests 7-24-20

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 146

Praise the Lord.

   Praise the Lord, my soul.

I will praise the Lord all my life;
    I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
Do not put your trust in princes,
    in human beings, who cannot save.
When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;
    on that very day their plans come to nothing.
Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob,
    whose hope is in the Lord their God.

He is the Maker of heaven and earth,
    the sea, and everything in them—
    he remains faithful forever.
He upholds the cause of the oppressed
    and gives food to the hungry.
   The Lord sets prisoners free,
the Lord gives sight to the blind,
   the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down,
    the Lord loves the righteous.
The Lord watches over the foreigner
    and sustains the fatherless and the widow,
    but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

10 The Lord reigns forever,
    your God, O Zion, for all generations.

   Praise the Lord.

  1. Wisdom and patience. I may have mentioned that. Talking with God this morning on the dog walk, while twelve was sitting at the end of the driveway and fourteen was mowing with a machete as he broke the scythe. I reminded Him (as if He needed reminding) that I too am a broken sinner in need of repair. I mentioned that he has me listening to Him as well as these children listen to me yet He continues to pick me up in grace and mercy, dust me off, and set me about my task. I asked for His grace and mercy to work through me to them. And I thought, He chastises me so I also need to correct these in their rebellion. Then I realized that I have no memory of Him ever chastising me. What???

  2. Isaiah 40:11 came to mind as I read your pondering words Mumsee….and I believe and trust you are right where He has placed you for just a time as this…
    He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young. ❤️
    Praying and standing with you…..

  3. “It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?” (Heb. 12:7).

    But we are grateful for such discipline. We are loved.

  4. Two weeks ago I got an email from a doctor that wycliffe is using that said I was too high risk to return to PNG since I am 71. I asked others to pray and spoke to a doctor from our clinic. He had approved me to return with cautions. Today, just this minute, I got an email from the medical ceo of Wycliffe asking if we could have a zoom call next week and he said that he had been speaking with the other doctor. I am encouraged. I spoke to the doctor I know but have not done anything else to object to this decision except to ask others to pray. I only want to return for less than 11 months and my support is at 100%.
    God’s wisdom on the way forward.
