Prayer Requests 7-17-20

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 140

For the director of music. A psalm of David.

Rescue me, Lord, from evildoers;
    protect me from the violent,
who devise evil plans in their hearts
    and stir up war every day.
They make their tongues as sharp as a serpent’s;
    the poison of vipers is on their lips.

Keep me safe, Lord, from the hands of the wicked;
    protect me from the violent,
    who devise ways to trip my feet.
The arrogant have hidden a snare for me;
    they have spread out the cords of their net
    and have set traps for me along my path.

I say to the Lord, “You are my God.”
    Hear, Lord, my cry for mercy.
Sovereign Lord, my strong deliverer,
    you shield my head in the day of battle.
Do not grant the wicked their desires, Lord;
    do not let their plans succeed.

Those who surround me proudly rear their heads;
    may the mischief of their lips engulf them.
10 May burning coals fall on them;
    may they be thrown into the fire,
    into miry pits, never to rise.
11 May slanderers not be established in the land;
    may disaster hunt down the violent.

12 I know that the Lord secures justice for the poor
    and upholds the cause of the needy.
13 Surely the righteous will praise your name,
    and the upright will live in your presence.

  1. I would like to ask for a selfish prayer. I have 3 potential buyers and a listing. I really would like for all of them to turn into contracts. I am within target range of a goal I set and I would really like to do it. Plus extra money is a good thing for what it can do.

  2. Praying for your success this day Kim…He knows… ♥️
    Thankful Jo made it to our state… may you have an enjoyable visit with your family Jo!
    I was on self destruct mode yesterday. I may have broken my pinky is all bruised this morning. I did something to my right forearm and now have it in an arm brace…I was removing a box spring in upstairs bedroom to vacuum underneath…it fell on my arm…then I stuck my finger opening a package with a staple…bled and bled… I need to learn how to be old…

  3. Praying, Kim, for your efforts to be well rewarded. May He keep you and Mr. P safe from Covid.

    Prayers, Nancyjill, for your boo-boos. May God heal you up quickly and remind you to ask for help on projects in the future. Learning our limits as we age is a necessary challenge.

  4. Asking prayer for YA. She has been commenting on a couple of my Facebook posts (and she blocked AJ), and the vitriol in her comments is somewhat disturbing, especially as she always assumes the very worst of motives for anyone she disagrees with. (I have to admit that I gave her a little biblical exhortation about that attitude, but wrote it kindly and calmly, I hope.)

    I don’t know if these attitudes of hers are from bitterness/resentment/hatred, or trying to build her identity on being woker than woke, or if there is indeed some mental instability there. Or maybe all three. But for someone who truly believes she is a good Christian who follows Jesus, she really needs her eyes open to her own sinfulness.

    Please pray that the Holy Spirit will move in a deep, transformative way in her heart and life. (And for her sister, too, who I think has similar attitudes.) Her attitudes may bother me, but they also remind me of how much she needs our Savior and prayer. I think there is a still a little girl within her who wants to be accepted by “the cool kids”. (She was a socially awkward child and teen.)

    (Although I do sincerely care for her soul, I will admit that there is also an ulterior motive, which I think you all know – that she is a strong influence on my Chickadee. I also pray for Chickadee to be delivered and rescued from the ungodly influence those sisters have on her. But I also think it would be wonderful if God would save all of them and transform their hearts and minds and lives.)
