Prayer Requests 11-16-19

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 98

A psalm.

Sing to the Lord a new song,
    for he has done marvelous things;
   his right hand and his holy arm
    have worked salvation for him.
The Lord has made his salvation known
    and revealed his righteousness to the nations.
He has remembered his love
    and his faithfulness to Israel;
   all the ends of the earth have seen
    the salvation of our God.

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth,
    burst into jubilant song with music;
make music to the Lord with the harp,
    with the harp and the sound of singing,
with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—
    shout for joy before the Lord, the King.

Let the sea resound, and everything in it,
    the world, and all who live in it.
Let the rivers clap their hands,
    let the mountains sing together for joy;
let them sing before the Lord,
    for he comes to judge the earth.
   He will judge the world in righteousness
    and the peoples with equity.

  1. Keeping in prayer for mumsee and family.

    Hope your toilet situation is better quickly, Cheryl. We will have a shower again by Sunday, although we will not have the bathroom finished for more than another week. Will be nice when it is finally all finished.

  2. Nightingale is going to take me to an urgent care clinic today. I’ve been getting worse – still coughing, feeling very tired, stomach not feeling well, my muscles feeling weak and achy, and being headachy on and off.

    I told her, joking of course, that I feel pregnant, like how I felt in my first trimester. Most food is not appealing to me, with the flavors seeming to be exaggerated on my tongue, and the smell of food cooking turns me off. I don’t want to eat, but when my stomach gets empty, it feels nauseous, and I know I need to put a little something into it.

    In the morning especially, I want something “absorbent”. But toast from the bread I usually like tastes yucky and too dry. Nightingale bought a pumpkin bread for me (and she’ll be baking another one today when she has more time), and a slice of that does the trick.

    And this cookie-lover has not been eating her cookies. That says a lot!

    I wouldn’t mind if the lower appetite could be permanent, but not the other stuff.

  3. I have pneumonia. The fever and coughing were a hint, and then they did a chest x-ray, which showed pneumonia in my left lung. They prescribed two antibiotics for me.

    No wonder I feel so rundown and weak.

  4. Thanks, all. The twins were born moments after the call came in that they were doing the c section. Each weighed two pounds and are stable critical for the first two weeks. Little boy arrived with his heart stopped but they resuscitated him and he is doing well. He collapsed a lung this afternoon so they had to work on that. Baby girl arrived fine and appears to be continuing that. They were at twenty six weeks. Daughter also stopped breathing and had to be intubated. She is now out of the hospital because she was determined to attend her wedding. She was a lovely bride and he clearly noticed. They are staying in the Ronald Mc Donald next to the hospital with their little boy. Ten months old with a younger brother and sister. Whew.

    Pregnant daughter and I will be staying in Boise for at least the next week to offer support in the form of baby sitting little boy so they can focus on healing and seeing the newbies. They will keep him at night. We will wait to see if pregnant has a baby while we are here.

    Meanwhile, I was in the ER the first night down as I became quite ill in the car, vomiting the four hours from White Bird to Boise. Ended up lying in the back of the van with a bucket. Husband called ahead and after describing, nurse daughter said to take me straight to the ER at the hospital. She met us there and all were quite concerned I had had a stroke. Turned out to be a bad case of vertigo (very similar to motion sickness, totally unlike the one other case of vertigo I had had. They gave me and MRI and everything as it presented as a stroke in the back of my head.

    And so it goes with the never ending: you just can’t make this stuff up that my life is.

    The ER visit was the same hospital daughter and the twins had been transported to by the best neonatal transport team in the country (therefore one might say the world). God is amazing.

  5. mumsee, praying for you all. What a harrowing experience all around. And it sounded like no fun at all for you personally with the vertigo scare and misery.

  6. I did not mention it but I sent husband to urgent care for his cough and they told him he had a cough and gave him cough meds. I sent him back today, they said he had pneumonia and an old cracked rib from coughing. He is on his way home with two children, picking up the third , and taking care of them and the animals for the next week. I hope he remembers his meds.

  7. Mumsee – Having pneumonia myself right now, I cannot fathom how Mike can function to do those things. I am exhausted, and having trouble just standing up straight. (And no, I don’t mean that humorously.) Although I think I waited much longer than I should have to finally get checked out.

  8. Mike is Superman. Really. I don’t know how he does all he does. It must be because he has the Perfect Wife for Him. Mumsee, I am finally catching up on everything and putting the puzzle piece together. I think I have it figured out so tell My Girl I’m on her team. Love and prayers to all.
