  1. Good. Make the prosecutor do her dang job instead of enabling these domestic terrorists. He might be overturned, but it’s about time someone in authority does their job, whether the liberals in the “justice” system like it or not.

“Boston Judge Refused To Dismiss Charges Against Antifa, Jailed Lawyer Who Argued With Him”

“Saturday, 36 people were arrested in connection with Boston’s “straight-pride parade.” Only two of those people were part of the parade itself. The rest were part of the Antifa counter-protest. As you can see in this arrest log, about half of the people arrested had serious charges against them including assault against police officers. Four officers were injured Saturday and, as of Wednesday, had not returned to duty. The other half were arrested for disorderly conduct and/or resisting arrest, i.e. relatively minor charges.

Tuesday, half of the arrestees were brought before Boston Judge Richard Sinnott. DA Rachel Rollins asked Sinnott to drop charges against 9 people who were arrested Saturday on lesser charges, i.e. resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Rollins, who is considered a progressive DA, has a standing commitment not to prosecute a list of 15 crimes which include disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. She wanted these counter-protesters to walk.

But Judge Sinnott only agreed to drop charges against two of the nine. That’s very unusual because a judge generally doesn’t decide who will get prosecuted. Tuesday evening DA Rollins published a statement on Facebook criticizing Judge Sinnott’s refusal to dismiss the cases:

By compelling arraignment in every case, the judge punished the exercise of individuals’ First Amendment right to protest. At my request, prosecutors used the discretion constitutionally allocated to the executive branch to triage cases and use our resources most effectively to protect public safety. Make no mistake: some people were appropriately arraigned and will be held accountable for actions that put the safety of the public and law enforcement at risk. For those people now tangled in the criminal justice system for exercising their right to free speech—many of whom had no prior criminal record—I will use the legal process to remedy the judge’s overstepping of his role.

A defense attorney named Susan Church who was representing some of the defendants tweeted her own reaction to Judge Sinnott’s refusal to dismiss: “The Judge has zero authority to do that. Zilch. A severe overstep. Although the court can deny a dismissal arguably (very thin argument) they cannot for a nol prosse. Trumps’ screw the law attitude seeping down to district court judges I see.” Church, who previously represented Occupy Boston, tried to argue this same point with the judge in person and wound up in handcuffs:”

“CNN, MSNBC Inundate Viewers with 145 Minutes of ‘Sharpiegate’

As Hurricane Dorian continues to wreak havoc across the eastern seaboard, liberal cable anchors are fixated on perhaps the most frivolous piece of the news cycle: President Trump’s poorly-doctored hurricane map. Between 5:00 am and 5:00 pm Eastern time on Wednesday, CNN and MSNBC gave this non-news item a whopping 145 minutes (just under two and a half hours).

CNN gave the map incident just over 64 minutes of airtime. Between bouts of theatrical scoffing, hosts brought in analysts or outside experts to explain precisely why the President’s doctored map was a travesty of heretofore unseen proportions.

The first instance of this was during the 11:00 am ET At This Hour, in which CNN’s Brian Stelter joined the panel to share his eternal concern about the President’s mental state.

“I wish he was tweeting more about the Carolinas and what’s going on around the coast, and not Alabama,” Stelter complained near the end of seven and a half-minute segment which focused entirely on Trump’s map.

Some anchors, particularly New Day co-host Alisyn Camerota, were insistent that the President’s ill-fated art project was in fact a serious crime; Camerota sternly repeated that claim five times throughout the morning. No word yet on whether this high crime has finally moved recalcitrant House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on impeachment, but stay tuned.”

  4. A new low, even for Obama and his band of terrorist sympathizers.

    https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2019/09/obama-swept-iran-terror-plot-under-the-rug.php

“OBAMA SWEPT IRAN TERROR PLOT UNDER THE RUG
Former Defense Secretary James Mattis has a book coming out in which he is harshly critical of President Obama. Among other things, he recalls his dissent from Obama’s decision to pull troops out of Iraq prematurely, which had nearly-disastrous consequences. But this less well-known story about Iran is also noteworthy:

Mattis says Washington didn’t even inform him when Iran committed an “act of war” on American soil.

Mattis was CENTCOM commander at the time, responsible for our military posture vis-a-vis Iran.

The duty officer at his Tampa, Florida, headquarters on Oct. 11, 2011 told him that the attorney general and FBI director had held a press conference to announce the arrest of two Iranians who had planned a bomb attack on Cafe Milano, a high-end restaurant in Washington that was a favorite of the rich and famous, including Saudi Arabia’s ambassador, Adel al-Jubeir.

I had dinner at Cafe Milano not long ago, which gives this story a personal aspect.

As Mattis writes, “Attorney General Eric Holder said the bombing plot was ‘directed and approved by elements of the Iranian government and, specifically, senior members of the Qods Force.’ The Qods were the Special Operations Force of the Revolutionary Guards, reporting to the top of the Iranian government.”
    ***
“Had the bomb gone off, those in the restaurant and on the street would have been ripped apart, blood rushing down sewer drains. It would have been the worst attack on us since 9/11. I sensed that only Iran’s impression of America’s impotence could have led them to risk such an act within a couple of miles of the White House,” he writes. “Absent one fundamental mistake — the terrorists had engaged an undercover DEA agent in an attempt to smuggle the bomb — the Iranians would have pulled off this devastating attack. Had that bomb exploded, it would have changed history.”

Within the Obama administration, Mattis argued forcefully that the president needed to inform the public of this act of war and mobilize opinion in favor of strong action against Iran. But his advice went unheeded.”

Cops Reportedly ‘Furious’ at Montgomery County Leadership Amid Spate of Illegal Alien Sex Crimes

“Cops Reportedly ‘Furious’ at Montgomery County Leadership Amid Spate of Illegal Alien Sex Crimes”

“Law enforcement officials in a Maryland county are reportedly “furious” at the county executive for protecting illegal aliens at the expense of law-abiding citizens, and are “taking matters into their own hands” to get the critical issue in front of the public.

Since July 25, police in Montgomery County have arrested at least seven confirmed illegal aliens for alleged rapes and sexual assaults, and in most of the cases the victims were minors. Rank and file police officers and prosecutors in the county are reportedly blaming the sex crime epidemic on the immigration policies County Executive Marc Elrich.

In the most recent case, a Honduran national in the United States illegally, allegedly raped his 15-year-old stepdaughter in suburban Maryland, according to WJLA.”

    —-

“In a statement to WJLA, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said that Carrasco-Hernandez was previously deported in April of 2017, but re-entered the United States “sometime thereafter.”

Conservative talk show host Vince Coglianese told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tuesday night that rank and file law enforcement officers in Montgomery County are fed up with their corrupt and inept leadership.

“The reason why we’re suddenly hearing about this concentration of stories is not that this is a new phenomenon—it’s that rank and file police officers and prosecutors in Montgomery County are furious at their own leadership for allowing this problem to continue to fester for as long as it has,” Coglianese explained.

“These stories haven’t been public before because they’ve been trying to deal with them. But now they’re done trying to deal with them,” he continued. “Montgomery County leadership led by Marc Elrich, the county executive … have made it so that Montgomery County specifically is a place where illegal immigration is protected at all costs—even at the expense of the community.”

Elrich issued an executive order in July prohibiting Montgomery County employees from inquiring into the immigration status of any resident, American Greatness’ Liz Sheld reported here last month. After two illegal aliens in Montgomery County were arrested for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl repeatedly, WJLA’s Kevin Lewis revealed on WMAL that “jail officials are not only forbidden from calling ICE officials regarding illegal alien inmates but also that ICE is forbidden from even entering the jail.”

Frederick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins blamed Montgomery County’s policies for allowing illegal immigrants to commit crimes and “jeopardizing public safety.””

  6. So yes, Planned Parenthood was in fact trafficking in baby body parts. Those undercover videos were correct.

But you probably don’t know that because the media has barely mentioned it.

“In Court Hearing, Planned Parenthood Employee Admits To Trafficking In Baby Body Parts”

    —-

“Day one of the preliminary hearing for pro-life activist David Daleiden kicked off Tuesday morning at the San Francisco Superior Court with testimony from an abortion technician, a third-trimester abortionist, and a vice president of the National Abortion Federation, who testified she doesn’t know what a human tissue procurement company is or does.

NAF Vice President of External Affairs Melissa Fowler also testified she recognized StemExpress—a human tissue procurement lab exposed in Daleiden’s undercover videos that is now under federal investigation—as a repeat vendor of her for-profit organization. NAF is a third-party abortion trade group.

The nine-day hearing is the first time Planned Parenthood leaders and affiliates have publicly gathered and testified in court since Daleiden’s Center for Medical Progress published 11 undercover videos featuring Planned Parenthood leaders discussing—and in some videos displaying—the harvesting and selling of aborted fetal organs and tissues.

Daleiden and his colleague Sandra Merritt face 14 criminal felony counts of eavesdropping and one count of conspiracy. The case marks the first time charges of eavesdropping have ever been made in California. During this hearing the judge will determine if there is probable cause Daleiden and Merritt committed a crime, and if so, will schedule a date for trial. Separately, the hearing for the civil case against Daleiden and Merritt will be held Sept. 30.”

“After Fowler, Doe 7 took the stand, a non-physician who performed surgical abortions for Planned Parenthood Northern California. She testified she regularly provided fetal tissue from the abortions she did and heard of money exchanges with StemExpress. When presented video evidence of her conversation with Daleiden, Doe 7 testified that numerous third parties could overhear the conversation, an important point of debate in the charge of eavesdropping.

In the final minutes of Tuesday’s hearing, Doe 3, a third-trimester abortionist, took the stand, at which time the AG’s office played a nearly 20-minute, never-before-released undercover video of a conversation between her and Daleiden, described by some in the courtroom as “shocking.”

“Planned Parenthood abortion providers appeared under oath in court today and admitted supplying the body parts of children in the womb to for-profit brokers like StemExpress,” Daleiden said Tuesday. “Meanwhile, the vice president of the National Abortion Federation denied any knowledge of the gruesome trafficking of fetal body parts, despite hosting StemExpress as a major vendor at the trade shows. The first day of testimony confirmed what we have been saying all along: this is a biased attack on First Amendment civil rights and a political prosecution to shield Planned Parenthood from accountability for their crimes against women and children.”

Daleiden says U.S. senator and presidential candidate Kamala Harris, who was California’s attorney general when he was charged, used her law enforcement and political power to destroy him. He says Harris’s office ordered a raid on his apartment, during which 11 agents tore through his belongings and took expensive camera and video equipment. Daleiden on Monday in a tweet called the charges “bogus” and an “attack on free speech to punish dissenting thought.”

Daleiden also notes that although it’s been four years since his undercover videos revealed what the abortion industry does with the human remains it generates, the federal government has not canceled contracts and grants for work that uses body parts obtained from deceased human children.

“It’s unconscionable for the Health and Human Services department of a pro-life administration to be every month basically setting these abortion quotas, having a number of orders of fresh fetal body parts, these are their own words in their own contracts, that they’re ordering and expecting to receive from abortion clinics every month for taxpayer-funded experimentation,” Daleiden said in January. “They spend over $100 million each year in taxpayer money [on this], and that number has increased in the past two years, it hasn’t gone down.”

It’s incredibly common for pet owners to fall head over heels for their companions, but a new survey reveals that many actually favor their pets over their own children!

According to the survey of 2,000 American pet-owning adults, 34% of surveyed parents say their pet is their favorite “child.”

In all, 72% of the survey’s respondents were both pet owners and parents, and a fifth of those pet-owning parents even admitted to buying a gift for their furry companion more recently than a gift for their own child. The survey, put together by pet food company “I and love and you,” also found that 67% of respondents consider their pet their best friend. Another 78% said their dog or cat is just as much part of their family as any other member.”

“Legal Woes For The Obamas’ As “Deplorable Behavior” Is Cited”

“The U.S. Trademark Office did what few do – the office told the Obamas “no”. The former First Couple is now aggressively demanding that no be turned into a yes.

You may remember the news not so long ago that the Obamas have now taken over Netflix with a fabulous agreement that their new production company will make movies and television series. Their production company is called Higher Ground Productions. Back in April, the Obamas wanted to trademark the name, and that is when the problems began for them. A woman named Hanisya Massey has a business called Higher Ground Enterprises, which helps authors publish e-books. Her trademark is in Class 41, which includes entertainment services. Her attorney says Massey has been using “Higher Ground” since 2008.

The Obamas original argument, provided in a letter from their attorney to the Trademark Office, is that no one is going to confuse the two businesses. The letter arrogantly implies it’s a distinction between a big, important entertainment deal with the former First Couple and a small business that promotes e-books.

“[T]he consumers of ‘media production services’ covered by the Application are likely to be highly sophisticated,” stated a letter on behalf of the Obamas’ production company to the Trademark Office. “Media production services are generally offered not to individual consumers but to commercial entities and professionals in their field. Indeed, Applicant has entered a deal with Netflix in connection with its media production services. Such customers, whether multi-billion-dollar media companies or smaller commercial entities in need of media production services, will exercise the height of care in selecting a media production company and are highly unlikely to be confused by a photographer or e-book publisher — particularly when the other party uses a distinguishable mark.”

Massey beat them to it by eleven years, it appears, and a trademark examiner agreed — at least for the moment. The denial of the Obamas’ appeal reasoned that there can be buyer confusion on the part of customers, and that the original owner of the name must prevail to protect both from any negative impact by a newcomer. In this case, the newcomer is Barack Obama and his wife.

Fast forward to August 20. The Obamas took the battle to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office and demanded that the trademark for Higher Grounds Enterprises be canceled. The Obamas claim that Massey wasn’t using the trademarked name in 2016 when their production company was started. That prompted an angry riposte from Massey’s attorney, who calls the couple’s request for cancellation of her trademark “deplorable behavior”.

“The Obamas have known for almost a year that their Higher Ground trademark application was rejected by the USPTO because it infringed my client’s rights,” says Zerner. “Instead, of simply picking another name, the Obamas’ lawyers have now filed a meritless petition to cancel my client’s trademark so they can take it for themselves. This is really deplorable behavior. I hope that the Obamas realize that these actions are not consistent with the values they preach and that they instruct their attorneys to immediately dismiss the petition.”

So much for the expression made famous by Michelle Obama, “When they go low, we go high.””

    https://dailycaller.com/2019/09/05/coal-miners-duped-democratic-anti-mcconnel-attack-ad/

“Both Randy and Albrow were led to believe that the reenactment was being done for a documentary relating the work of the Black Lung Association. They did not know and were never told that they were being filmed for a political advertisement,” reads a letter sent Wednesday to McGrath. “Randy and Albrow are not partisan political activists for either party. However, they are personally offended at seeing their images being used in a political attack ad that does not reflect their personal feelings or beliefs.”

The letter demands that McGrath and her campaign “immediately cease and desist from the use of their personal images in any and all advertising and media.”

McGrath, a former Marine officer who is expected to take the Democratic nomination for the Senate seat, released a video entitled “10 Hour Bus Ride,” that condemns McConnell for allegedly only spending one minute of his time to speak with miners suffering from black lung disease — an ailment that arises from the inhalation of coal dust over many years. The two miners are clearly visible in the opening scene on the bus.

The McGrath campaign is denying that they misinformed anyone about the intent of the video. “All of the miners were fully informed that they were being filmed for an ad and even signed up for McGrath hats and T-shirts,” Mark Nickolas, campaign manager for McGrath, told the Washington Free Beacon. Nickolas insists the campaign will continue to play the ad.

Lawyer Christopher Thacker refuted Nickolas’ narrative, telling the Free Beacon, “My clients don’t recall signing any release, and certainly not one making reference to a political campaign.”

“They would not have participated had they been aware that the footage was to be used for a partisan ad,” he said.”

Although I truly do believe that each of my daughters is my favorite in different ways, there is a deeper “emotional thing” between Chickadee and me. Temperamentally, Chickadee and I are very much alike, and Nightingale is very much like her dad was. Yet we both deeply cherish/ed each of our girls.

“A new poll has some astonishing news for those who keep seeing President Trump losing in polls in head-to-head competition with the leading Democratic Party presidential candidates Democrats: All three leading Democratic candidates — former Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) — have lower favorability ratings than President Trump.

The in-depth, comprehensive poll from The Economist and YouGov, taken between September 1-3, showed 43% of respondents with a favorable response to Trump; 29% had a “very favorable” reaction and an additional 14% had a “somewhat favorable” response.

Among the three leading Democrats, only 40% had a favorable reaction to Biden, with a paltry 17% of respondents having a “very favorable” reaction and an additional 23% with a “somewhat favorable” reaction.

Warren got a total of 39% of respondents giving her a favorable reaction, 20% of whom had a “very favorable: reaction and 19% with a “somewhat favorable” reaction. Sanders got the most favorable reaction of the three top candidates as he barely edged out Biden with 41% of respondents having a favorable reaction, but he still ranked 2% behind Trump. 18% of voters gave Sanders a “very favorable” rating while 23% gave him a “somewhat favorable” response.

Another piece of evidence with good news for Trump: asked whether their candidate would defeat or lose to Trump in 2020, Biden was 10% underwater, with 32% of voters agreeing he would probably beat Trump but 42% saying he would probably lose. Warren fared even worse, at 16% underwater; 28% thought she would probably win and 44% thought she would probably lose, while Sanders brought up the rear at 17% underwater, as 29% of voters thought he would probably win but 46% thought he would probably lose. (Just a note: Senator Kamala Harris lagged far behind the top three candidates at a whopping 24% underwater.)”

    https://hotair.com/archives/ed-morrissey/2019/09/06/trumps-gop-primaries-canceled-key-states/

“If Donald Trump faced any serious primary challengers, this would be an outrage, as Politico reports. A breakdown of norms! Signs of the apocalypse!

That’s a mighty big if, however:

Four states are poised to cancel their 2020 GOP presidential primaries and caucuses, a move that would cut off oxygen to Donald Trump’s long-shot primary challengers.

Republican parties in South Carolina, Nevada, Arizona and Kansas are expected to finalize the cancellations in meetings this weekend, according to three GOP officials who are familiar with the plans.

The moves are the latest illustration of Trump’s takeover of the entire Republican Party apparatus. They underscore the extent to which his allies are determined to snuff out any potential nuisance en route to his renomination — or even to deny Republican critics a platform to embarrass him.

Or is it? Politico’s Alex Isenstadt admits in the next paragraph that this is actually business as usual when no serious primary challenger emerges to a presidential incumbent:

Trump advisers are quick to point out that parties of an incumbent president seeking reelection have a long history of canceling primaries and note it will save state parties money. But the president’s primary opponents, who have struggled to gain traction, are crying foul, calling it part of a broader effort to rig the contest in Trump’s favor.

Rig what contest? So far, only two people have announced primary challenges to Donald Trump, neither of which appears in the least bit serious. Former Salem colleague Joe Walsh announced last week and immediately landed in hot water over his past social-media posts. Former Massachusetts governor Bill Weld announced months ago but has done little or nothing other than make a few media appearances. Neither have any serious constituency within the GOP as candidates, and that was true without Trump being on the scene.”

The real reforms will take place after the post mortems that will follow the 2020 election. Expect to see:
    1. Fewer open primaries in which Democrats can vote in Republican primaries for candidates like Trump and Republican mischief makers can do things I described @1:28.
    2. Fewer primaries and more caucuses.
    3. More delegates chosen by party leaders. They may not be called “Super Delegates”, but that is in effect what they will be.
