Prayer Requests 2-16-19

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 16

Keep me safe, my God,
    for in you I take refuge.

I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
    apart from you I have no good thing.”
I say of the holy people who are in the land,
    “They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.”
Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more.
    I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods
    or take up their names on my lips.

Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup;
    you make my lot secure.
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
    surely I have a delightful inheritance.
I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;
    even at night my heart instructs me.
I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
    With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
    my body also will rest secure,
10 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
    nor will you let your faithful one see decay.
11 You make known to me the path of life;
    you will fill me with joy in your presence,
    with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

  1. I don’t know if the scheduler at the nursing home that Nightingale works at plays favorites with other nurses on staff or what, but again for March, Nightingale is scheduled to work a lot of 2nd shifts – three each week, except for four one week. Not only does she not like that, but I don’t like it, either.

    Please pray that either the scheduler would be more fair in her scheduling, or that Nightingale would be able to find another job that would give her the hours she needs and prefers. (She doesn’t mind working one or two 2nd shifts a week, but three or more is not good for her in trying to be here for her son.)

  2. Please pray for Becca who may have Pandas. She has been very depressed and not eating much of anything. They now have an appointment with a specialist for that, but in the meantime they wait trying to help her. She is on some meds and seems to be improving a bit. Pray for her and her parents for all the wisdom they need. Also, for her sisters, one of whom has Downs Syndrome. It has been quite frightening for them.

  3. Just got a call from one of son’s friends. Seems they were skiing and son took a header and they wanted to know if they should take him to the hospital. He does not remember a bunch of stuff. I told her he has had many concussions and this sounded like a significant one and she should take him in to be checked out. Prayer for wisdom for a bunch of young folk coming down off the mountain and for the doctors to quickly figure it out and tell him how to proceed. And pray that some sense was knocked into him.

  5. Nightingale and The Boy are getting up early tomorrow to head off to Maine for a couple days. (There is no school Monday and Tuesday. They’ll be back Tuesday afternoon or evening.) It is supposed to start snowing later tonight and snow throughout the morning into the afternoon. It is possible they may drive out of the snow, as I don’t know how widespread the storm is supposed to be. Anyway, please pray for safe travels for them. (And also for Nightingale coming home from work later tonight.) Thank you.

  6. He was sent home, to report to a concussion care center tomorrow. Released from school and work for a couple of days. Xrays showed no breaks or fractures in head or neck. He is staying with friends who will keep an eye on him over night.
