Prayer Requests 12-19-18

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajisuun and The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 119:161-176

ש Sin and Shin

161 Rulers persecute me without cause,
but my heart trembles at your word.
162 I rejoice in your promise
like one who finds great spoil.
163 I hate and detest falsehood
    but I love your law.
164 Seven times a day I praise you
    for your righteous laws.
165 Great peace have those who love your law,
and nothing can make them stumble.
166 I wait for your salvation, Lord,
    and I follow your commands.
167 I obey your statutes,
    for I love them greatly.
168 I obey your precepts and your statutes,
for all my ways are known to you.

ת Taw

169 May my cry come before you, Lord;
give me understanding according to your word.
170 May my supplication come before you;
deliver me according to your promise.
171 May my lips overflow with praise,
for you teach me your decrees.
172 May my tongue sing of your word,
for all your commands are righteous.
173 May your hand be ready to help me,
for I have chosen your precepts.
174 I long for your salvation, Lord,
and your law gives me delight.
175 Let me live that I may praise you,
and may your laws sustain me.
176 I have strayed like a lost sheep.
    Seek your servant,
for I have not forgotten your commands.

  1. I’m not feeling the greatest, either, so am requesting prayers, as well. I’ve got a headache today that has been growing more intense as the day goes on. I really don’t want to miss church tonight, or the choir rehearsal right afterwards, which is our last one before singing on Christmas Eve.

There is also a second choir rehearsal following the first one tonight, which doesn’t start until 8:30. It’s for those who want to sing in the choir that is forming to sing at B’s funeral Saturday. Tonight is the only one of the two rehearsals for that that I can make. (The other is tomorrow night at 7:30, which is the starting time for the rescheduled piano concert from December 1, which I was scheduled to play in before it was canceled due to bad weather.)

Thanks for your prayers that, God willing, I’ll feel well enough for 6:30 church, 7:30 choir practice, and 8:30 choir practice tonight.

  2. I feel SOOO much better tonight! Thank you for praying. And, boy, there’s little to compare to how good it feels to sing robustly with a bunch of strong singers. Singing does a body good, I discovered tonight. What was left of my headache before church went away once I started singing, and now I feel better than ever after about 2 1/2 hours of intermittent singing.

Next time I request prayer for a headache, remind me to go sing, too! Prayer and praise — they go together. 🙂

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!
