Prayer Requests 12-12-18

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajisuun and The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 119:65-80

ט Teth

65 Do good to your servant
    according to your word, Lord.
66 Teach me knowledge and good judgment,
    for I trust your commands.
67 Before I was afflicted I went astray,
    but now I obey your word.
68 You are good, and what you do is good;
    teach me your decrees.
69 Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies,
    I keep your precepts with all my heart.
70 Their hearts are callous and unfeeling,
    but I delight in your law.
71 It was good for me to be afflicted
    so that I might learn your decrees.
72 The law from your mouth is more precious to me
    than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.

י Yodh

73 Your hands made me and formed me;
    give me understanding to learn your commands.
74 May those who fear you rejoice when they see me,
    for I have put my hope in your word.
75 I know, Lord, that your laws are righteous,
    and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.
76 May your unfailing love be my comfort,
    according to your promise to your servant.
77 Let your compassion come to me that I may live,
    for your law is my delight.
78 May the arrogant be put to shame for wronging me without cause;
    but I will meditate on your precepts.
79 May those who fear you turn to me,
    those who understand your statutes.
80 May I wholeheartedly follow your decrees,
    that I may not be put to shame.

  1. We have a friend whose daughter’s next step is hospice. He needs a better understanding of salvation and the Word. She may also, but is trusting God through this cancer. She has lost over a hundred pounds and is now very frail. She is in her forties. He lost his first wife to cancer and has been wonderful with helping his daughter out during this time. Her husband is in denial according to the father. The father met with a mutual acquaintance yesterday to get help with writing a eulogy for this beloved daughter. He is hoping to be strong for his children and grandchildren and being able to give it at her funeral. They all need prayer.

    This father has a girlfriend who also lost a son a few years ago. She has been a god-send in many ways, even helping his daughter with showers. Pray for her would be appreciated, as well.

  2. As I mentioned a couple of days ago, I join in these prayers.
    But it’s hard to be specific when I only have the gist of the issue.
    But I’m praying knowing that God cares that we care and He can fill in the blanks.
    My “like” means that I hear and will pray about it.

  3. But several times in Scripture, God tells us just how to pray.
    And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ… Philip 1:9
    With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit….and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth to make known with boldnss the mystery of the gospel…Ephe 6: 18, 19
    For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, acccording to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hears through faith, and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Eph 3: 14-20
    …do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray the the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe….Eph 1:15- 19

    and on and on…that is what I pray for you people and that is what I mean when I ask you to pray for wisdom for me.
