  1. Good.morning! I had the opportunity to say hello to Jo in the middle of my night’s sleep. I hope everyone is staying well. I keep hearing reports about the flu knocking people down. It is time for me to get to hopping.

  2. Question.
    Does sugar spoil?
We don’t use much sugar. I bought a bag when we came here over a year ago. I still have over half of it.
Is it still good? It seems so, only it clogs and I have to break it up.

  3. Pronghorn? I’ve seen bighorn sheep in the wild once (from a bus somewhere in the West) and white-tailed and mule deer, even female elk, but I’d love to see other large grazers. Actually, I also once saw bison, on vacation somewhere as a child, and we never went to Yellowstone and my mom, too, was somewhat surprised by the sight, so I don’t know where we were.

  4. How said, Kim.

No sugar won’t spoil. It just has some moisture in it to clump it. You can just break it up with your hand or even use a sharp knife (if it is really solid) to break it into smaller chunks and then break those apart.

  5. Yes, those are pronghorn. Not a real antelope, but some other designation (I forget what). Husband took that picture when we lived in Grasslands National Park. Lots of pronghorn down there. There might even be a bison picture or two coming up. If not, I’ll be sure to send one to AJ.

  6. Jo, I made mango chicken for lunch today. My husband likes mango, but I don’t (though I do like it in this dish), so yesterday I cut him up a snack of it using one of three mangoes I bought, and today I made it for lunch using one and a half. There is one more serving left (which he’ll probably eat for supper) and also another small dish of cut mango for him to eat when he wants it.

  7. It looks a little pixelated on my computer, too, Kare, but I like that effect for a picture like this.

This is the music I had playing on MPR’s Choral Stream online when I opened the blog. Contemporary choral music can have a distant, haunting, yet sometimes piercing effect, and this piece by Arvo Part, combined with the current blog header on here, proved to be a stunning combination, in my opinion.

  8. Principal came to my room yesterday afternoon and asked what I was thinking about when to go to full days. So I committed to next Thursday, Feb. 1st. That is lso the 100th day of school and then we will begin with two days instead of an entire week.
Not sure that I am ready.

  9. We have a new cat. I know this because as I was downloading pics from the game camera, I said, “that is not our cat.” And now I have fed it. We have a new cat. It is outside.

  10. Hello, Jo. I am about to fall back to sleep. I hope you have a good day. Your trip to the store supplied you with some wonderful foods. I made some fruit salad yesterday and had a little bit of mango in it. Art picked out the mango and would not eat it. His taste buds never grew up!

Well, I dozed off and then found a string of letters had been postef
