Prayer Requests 8-29-17

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 20

May the Lord answer you when you are in distress;
may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
May he send you help from the sanctuary
and grant you support from Zion.
May he remember all your sacrifices
    and accept your burnt offerings.
May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed.
May we shout for joy over your victory
and lift up our banners in the name of our God.

May the Lord grant all your requests.

Now this I know:
The Lord gives victory to his anointed.
He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary
with the victorious power of his right hand.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.
Lord, give victory to the king!
    Answer us when we call!

  1. BG and her dad got in some sort of skerfuffle yesterday. I received a text from him telling me he was washing his hands of her and taking her car away. Sound familiar? Roars like a lion, rolls over like a Puddy Tat. His instructions were for me not to call or text him about it, so I didn’t. Later I received a text that they had made up somewhat.
I tried to contact Missy Prissy to find out what happened but she wouldn’t respond to me. This is part of her problem.
Me? As I said before, she IS my monkey, but this isn’t my circus.

  2. My sister and family got back home last night with no delays or weather problems or any trouble at all. Thank you for all the travel-related prayers.

As I wrote late on yesterday’s prayer thread, 2nd Arrow has campylobacter infection. She started antibiotics this morning, and may be released as early as tonight, if she can eat without pain. She went from Friday to Monday evening with no food and no appetite, but was told yesterday afternoon while we were there that she could go home when she could eat and not end up in pain. She tried some toast last night, but that caused pain, not surprisingly, after over 72 hours with no food. I talked to her about 9:30 this morning, and she had eaten some crackers about 20 minutes before that, and was not experiencing any pain associated with that up to that point. She had also not needed any morphine since sometime in the middle of the night.

Thank you for your prayers for her. Please continue to pray for healing and pain-free eating so she can be released from the hospital.

  3. I spoke with the Da-dee (BG’s father) today. Yesterday he did not like the condescending tone of her text message.
    1. It’s a text how can you “hear” a condescending tone?
    2. She is 20. Condescend is all she knows how to to right now–we are her parents and thus the two dumbest people currently walking the earth at this time.
    3. Mr. Pot, I would like to introduce you to Miss Kettle. She may look like me but she acts just like him.
    4. I got the description of BG being a house devil and a street angel from her NANA! who used it to describe her (BG’s) father! She didn’t get this from a stranger.

All’s well that ends well. We just need to get her safely home. I have to take some of the blame for the last week. My father described me as “would ride a fence post wrapped in barbed wire to go someplace”. Some of you may guess that about me since I was perfectly willing to get in a car, drive 10 hours, and fly across country with a man I had only met that day. Of course I had chaperones.

  4. Hubby had his appointment with our primary care doctor this afternoon to discuss the matter of the fiery burning he’d had in his chest the other day, & has had at other times, but not for as long as this time.

Dr. C prescribed nitroglycerin to have on hand for if or when it happens again. He also told him that if it does happen again, he should go straight to the nearest hospital. And he needs to see his cardiologist about this soon.

Tomorrow we go to see the oncologist about the results of last week’s tests.

  5. Here, too. Prayers for all.

Good news — 2nd Arrow is feeling much better, and just got discharged from the hospital! Thank you for all your prayers. God be praised.
