🙂 I went out to the mailbox yesterday afternoon and another bunch of Congratulation cards were there. I am swamped with well wishers.’
And I’m beginning to suspect conspiracy.
And I doubt the Russians had anything to do with it.
You people have been so good!
Al I can do is say THANK YOU
I just wish Elvera were capable of appreciating it.
But she did enjoy the dinner Chuck and the kids had for us.
😦 I awoke early today…toooo early
🙂 I was blessed beyond measure because I awoke early this morning
🙂 I caught an hour nap already this morning…and it is only 7 AM!
Cheryl deserves the credit. It was her idea. I will email you a photo of BG and me. I didn’t think I had it in my files to print and the only copy I had was one BG had printed and put in a frame for me last Christmas.
🙂 Enjoyed the 8th grade graduation of our grandson this week. So fun to see our youngest granddaughter and her sister, too, while there.
😦 Missed several recitals and things for grandchildren. It is no fun when the grandchildren are too far away to see them in sports or the arts etc. We have just been too busy and doing to much long distance travelling to do it all.
🙂 Being busy is good in so many ways, however. My husband’s jam group is playing a community show this evening. We also have a graduation open house before then and a few errands to complete. The rest will have to wait. ‘Tis the season.
🙂 You all know by now that we had our sixtieth anniversary Friday. I have cords from most of you.
I may not have told you that I gave her a necklace with a pendant. The pendant said,
Elvera
I loved you then
I love you now
I always have
I always will
Charlie.
Well, I wanted her to wear it to church this morning. But these 87 year-old eyes couldn’t fasten it around her neck.
It’s funny now. It wasn’t then.
I got one of the guys at church. Bob, a guy in my SS class.
He fastened it around her neck.
but THE PENDANT WASN’T ON IT
We had lost the pendant. Looked all over for it. A lady even got on floor looking under a table.
We gave up. It was lost. Amazing. It had to be somewhere. But nowhere around.
We went on into early service.
We were singing the second song.
She reached over and handed me the pendant.

It was in her hands all the time!
DIL suggests that I buy to buy a longer necklace so I don’t have to worry about fixing it about her neck.
Reckon I’ll do that.
Whew. The happy ending, but you had me holding my breath for a while! Glad you found it — yes, longer chains (30-ish inches?) are always easier — and maybe with a safety clasp, just in case.
🙂 We enjoyed Saturday watching the Michigan state ultimate frisbee high school championship tournament in Kalamazoo. This is the first time there’s been an official state championship in Michigan. The sport is not as big in Michigan as in some other states. Only six teams were there, two from our school and teams from a nearby school in Ann Arbor, and from Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, and Saginaw.
🙂 Our school’s A team, which has a lot of players our son played with before he graduated last year, was undefeated in five games and won the championship.
🙂 Our school’s B team, which our son coached this year, lost every game but won the tournament “spirit award”. “The spirit of the game”, which is mostly good sportsmanship, is an important part of ultimate frisbee culture and is explained in the official USA Ultimate rules. Most high school tournaments include a spirit award given to a team based on votes from the captains of the other teams they played.
Had a lovely dinner with friends tonight and then we played Qwerkle. It was fun and I won!!

Chas, Kim got us your address. Whether by fair means or foul, we chose not to ask.

I thought I was the only one supporting the USPS with hand written letters, turns out I am not.

🙂 We love you Chas, appreciate your humour and your wisdom.
🙂 Two and a half inches of rain over night! That doesn’t usually happen. I guess we don’t need to water the garden for the next week or so.
🙂 Friends to come over tomorrow afternoon – I’m looking forward to it. Trying to find different ways to make burgers.
