Prayer Requests 5-9-17

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 65

Praise awaits you, our God, in Zion;
    to you our vows will be fulfilled.
You who answer prayer,
    to you all people will come.
When we were overwhelmed by sins,
    you forgave[ our transgressions.
Blessed are those you choose
    and bring near to live in your courts!
We are filled with the good things of your house,
    of your holy temple.

You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds,
    God our Savior,
the hope of all the ends of the earth
    and of the farthest seas,
who formed the mountains by your power,
    having armed yourself with strength,
who stilled the roaring of the seas,
    the roaring of their waves,
    and the turmoil of the nations.
The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders;
    where morning dawns, where evening fades,
    you call forth songs of joy.

You care for the land and water it;
    you enrich it abundantly.
The streams of God are filled with water
    to provide the people with grain,
    for so you have ordained it.
10 You drench its furrows and level its ridges;
    you soften it with showers and bless its crops.
11 You crown the year with your bounty,
    and your carts overflow with abundance.
12 The grasslands of the wilderness overflow;
    the hills are clothed with gladness.
13 The meadows are covered with flocks
    and the valleys are mantled with grain;
    they shout for joy and sing.

  1. Once again I am on eggshells. Nana talked to BG yesterday and convinced her to come home. She showed up last night at 11:30. I had to come into the office today because we have an intern starting. I have already received a text from Mr.P about telling her she has to leave.
    On top of that I have already been chewed by Guy this morning. I am about to come unglued and the “real” people in my life don’t care as long as they can get a kick in.

  2. Kim, had her nana not heard she wasn’t allowed to live with you anymore? Or did she convince her to apologize and try for a second third chance? The fact that Mr. P is right doesn’t make it easy for you emotionally, and I’m sorry.

  3. Kim: I’m continuing to pray for you and BG. My heart hurts with yours…..

    Update on Felix: They did an MRI yesterday and found that one of the gallstones “escaped” and is lodged in a bile duct. A surgeon from San Antonio is coming to Kerrville Hospital this morning to try and remove escaped gallstone arthroscopically (sp?)–then they will remove the gallbladder. Please continue to pray for healing.

  4. What Jo said.

    Carol is back in the hospital with the usual issues (low potassium, severe leg pain — they are giving her morphine). And a possible new wrinkle, shingles, but that hasn’t been confirmed.

  5. Praying for Felix…that does sound painful!
    Kim…the real people here care and our hearts collectively hurt for you…(and mine is just a tad bit angry) Nana convinces BG to go home but she won’t take her and you must? I am so sorry but someone must take responsibility here and it ain’t you….rant over…..

  6. Prayers for all of the above.

    Travel mercies and skilled hands for Kevin B.

    The MIL gets out of the hospital and goes to rehab today! It has been a long 19 days for their family. Thank you for the prayers.

    I could use prayers for my FIL, from my first marriage. He is in the hospital with a GI bleed. He had stents placed about a month ago, so blood thinners have been an issue.

    A friend is having back, neuro surgery today. She is a widow, who never had any children. No family close by, either. Other friends from work are taking her to and from the hospital in Albuquerque. She needs strength and encouragement to recover and be able to work again.

  7. My friend Renee-in-Minnesota will be having her shoulder surgery (for a completely torn rotator cuff) on Thursday, but she is now concerned about her beloved dog Shonzer. (His name is a combination of his breeds – Bichon-Frise & Miniature Schnauzer.) They’ve recently discovered that his liver is only half the size it should be, & he is in failing health. Renee had hoped to have him cuddle with her when she is home recovering, but now she is scared he may have to be put down (or die on his own) before then.

    Please pray he’ll hang on (although not suffering – she wouldn’t want that), or that if God chooses to let him pass, He will give Renee great comfort. And of course, please pray for her surgery & recovery, as we also pray for Kevin’s surgery. Thank you.

  8. Good news Kevin.

    We’ll be praying tomorrow as well, and you’re already included in tomorrow’s yet to be posted prayer post. Take care, and a Happy Birthday! to your wife. 🙂

  9. Prayers for good conclusions to all the prayer needs above. I am still not back in the swing of life before tax season. This transitioning has been difficult. Son might be flying home tomorrow, so prayers for him, please. He finished all his course work for his PhD. Now onward to do his dissertation. I can hardly believe he is at that point and that we are as old as we are. Life and aging happens when you aren’t paying attention.

  10. Janice – There is a saying that says the days go by slowly, but the years go by quickly. (I’ve heard that applied to raising children, but I think it applies to life in general.)

  11. I’ll be remembering you in prayer tomorrow, Kevin.

    Thank you, also, for re-posting that prayer of mine the next day after my late-night posting, whenever that was. Life’s been such a blur lately. And to Kizzie and Janice for your good intentions in doing the same for me. 🙂 Appreciate it.

    Prayers for all above, too.
