Prayer Requests 9-20-16

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 146

¹Praise ye the Lord. Praise the Lord, O my soul.

While I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.

Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.

Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God:

Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:

Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The Lord looseth the prisoners:

The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind: the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down: the Lord loveth the righteous:

The Lord preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.

10 The Lord shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the Lord.

  1. As I was praying for Art & Mr. P and some other situations this morning, I reflected on how fortunate an 86 year old man is when his complaint is that he can’t work more than two hours without exhaustion.
But my eyes are slowly failing, it seems.
And my wife is getting dementia.
    But we have been blessed.

  2. It is fortunate, Chas, but frustrating when you cannot work like you want to. I know my dad hated that. I know I hated it at various times in my life. I am glad we have a time and place to look forward to where there is none of that frustration.

  3. A long time ago we were told that total scholarships were available for any of our adopted children to go to college should they choose. If a child has spent more than a year in foster care, people had set up scholarships to encourage college and the scholarships are rarely taken. Our one college attendee preferred to have college debt like her friends so refused to look at scholarships. Now, a gentleman is steering seventeen year old toward college courses where he can learn to be an airplane mechanic. I mentioned the scholarships to the guy (used to be a teacher and a superintendent of the schools) and he was all over tracking it down. So, wisdom for him and direction in directing my son. Thanks.

  4. Chas, it seems to all be in the attitude.
Mr. P is home. He is quite sore and in a good deal of pain, but otherwise OK. I think his biggest irritation is that I keep asking him questions. Can I get you anything? Water? A hammer? Should I pinch your toe to take your mind off of it?

  5. I understand Mr. P’s point. Some people like to be pampered when sick. There are some, like me, who have a strong desire to be left alone. Don’t pamper. Don’t get me anything unless I ask. It isn’t you , it’s me. Just leave me alone.
