Prayer Requests 9-14-16

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget to pray for The Gambia, and for Ajisuun as well.

Anyone else?

Psalm 141

¹Lord, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee.

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.

Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.

When their judges are overthrown in stony places, they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.

Our bones are scattered at the grave’s mouth, as when one cutteth and cleaveth wood upon the earth.

But mine eyes are unto thee, O God the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.

Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.

10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.

  1. Wisdom as I watch fifteen year old spiral down in his school work. Again, refusing to do the homework. Hoping the school will follow up on the no sports or other activities rule as he begins to accumulate all A’s and a couple of F’s. We are letting him free fall this year. Last year we tried to help him acclimate, this year is on him.

  2. Prayers for Patricia’s family–she died about an hour ago, a distant cousin of my daughter-in-law. Situation is messy and Patricia’s 91 year-old mother, who had asked to be called at the end, did not get called. The husband of two years decided Reva should be told when she walks into the house to see how her daughter is doing, just about now.

Reva lost her husband and her other daughter in the last couple years.

There are other distresing aspects to this, but Reva, at the moment, is the most important. Thank you.

  3. Michelle – Maybe I am misreading you, but are you saying that the daughter died a year ago & her mother just found out now?

My pastor’s wife’s grandfather died earlier this year. His wife (2nd wife, not the mother of his children) did not tell his daughter until two weeks later. She & the rest of her family did not get to attend his funeral.

    People can be so cruel.

  4. Tomorrow I’ll have my pre-cataracts-surgery physical. (1st surgery on September 28.) Praying no health issues come up that would interfere with having the surgeries.

  5. The deceased Patricia’s sister and father died a few years ago. Patricia died this morning. The mom, Reva, was not called to be in attendance when Patricia died this morning. Am I more clear now? Sorry for any confusion. Feeling sad for the mom and Patricia, both.
