  6. Yeah I finally managed to get out of the house for a little this weekend. Since the snow is finally gone, the park is a realistic choice for a place to take pics again.

    Well, until last night’s snow…. and what we’re getting later….. and then the freezing temps in the teens this weekend… 🙂

  7. Good Morning…like Ann, my coffee hasn’t kicked in as of yet….I need one more cup! We have a puppy who likes to rise and shine at 4:30 and as early as that is, we both jump out of bed in attempts to be the one to release her from her kennel….she is the sweetest thing first thing in the morning and she is quite vocal about it!
    That is a lovely shot of the woodpecker…better he be on the tree than upon my house pecking holes in my siding….pesky critters!! 😛

  10. 80s and very dry air again here, this is supposed to keep up through early next week.

    Hard to adapt to summer all of a sudden again.

    I’m drinking coffee this morning, trying to perk up. Not a lot of energy lately …

    And that cat playfully (but purposefully) pounced on me when I wouldn’t leap up at her first meow. I complained but then got up to let everyone out.

    Her take-away from that? Pouncing worked. 😦

  11. Janice, It’s snowing over here. I don’t think it’s serious. I hope not.
    My phone says 50% probability all day.
    Supposed to zoom up to 32 degrees. It’s 30 now.

  12. Yesterday, Janice asked a question about Bible schools which elicited a bit of comment.
    I put in my nickels worth. But in addition to that, I thought about a quiz question I got in a Religious History test.
    I recall only three questions, and I already forgot one, that I got during my education.
    1. In a history course I was taking from extension of American University, in Arabia,.
    Question: Discuss the legacies of the Greek and Roman empires. I don’t remember what I said then, but I could ace that now.
    2. Question in a SW Seminary Church History class: Was (Queen) Elizabeth a Protestant or Catholic? I don’t remember what I said, Today I would answer, Neither, she was a politician.

    While cogitating on that, I thought of another question.
    Is Obama a Christian or a Muslim?
    Think about it.

  13. It is warm out this morning. Didn’t need the snow boots or the coat. I do wear gloves, always for chores. So they were good for holding the stick to break the ice on the water troughs.

  15. The dryer broke. The code says something about a computer sensor. The thing is practically brand new. We have had it maybe five or ten years and it only does about twelve to fifteen loads per week. Down from four years of twenty five loads a week. They just don’t make em like they used to, right Michelle? Anyway, the boys were able to go out to the pantry and bring in the other one. Some people had to hang clothes until they had time, but I notice it got changed up before my day and that is good. We will get this one repaired and then put it in the pantry as the backup, with the other washing machine.

  16. Chas, along those lines, a World History exam question asked us to compare the development of the Western Empire to the development of the game of football. Unforgetable question back in the days of macho male profs.

    Obama? Maybe he thinks he’s a prophet led to change Christianity and Islam to revere homosexuality in a one world religion, Obominationism.

  19. Art told me last night I did not need to fix his lunch because a client was bringing laaagne for lunch. Out of habit I got up and fixed his lunch, and he took it with him. Now I am wondering if we were both on auto pilot this a.m. and both forgetful, or was he being nice like Chas is along those lines. I did eventually remember, but it was a long senior moment prompted by the thought of why I was asked to get paper plates from Sam’s yesterday..

  21. It’s 20 something with winds at 20 something and snow flurries. It’s cold. I’d even say colder than an LA dog park, but since I’ve not been to one of those I’ll let you decide.

  23. Western Empire should be Western civilization. Goes to show how much I learned in that class.

    That is really cold, Peter. I do expect to hear Donna say how much colder it is at the LA dog park, so cold that when the dogs bark, the sound freezes in their throats so they end up spitting out chunks of ice encased barks instead.

  24. It is probably so cold there in the dog park that the people’s toes turn color right there in their sandals. But with the shorts and tshirts, they ought to be okay.

  27. I turned on the noon news only to find every channel around here is “live” in Denver for the Bronco’s coming home victory parade…..wow….there are a lot of over the top fans here!
    It is a lovely day…sun shining, snow melting…had to ditch the jacket on my walk with the dog…it was down right hot! 🙂 (Mumsee’s laundry would dry right quick hung out on the line around here today!)

  31. My Bible study group feted me last night and even had a cheesecake with candles.
    I had a piece and then felt the sugar overload for half the night. I have been working at getting down to a more healthy weight and have not had anything like that. Two bites would have been plenty for me. Nice to know I do not crave to feel that way.

  33. Jo, it is nice not to crave sweets. I still eat sweets, but I am very satisfied by unsweetened foods with little salt so I can really taste the original food instead of tasting the enhancers. I have been buying the unsweetened organic applesauce and bought some sweetened because they wereon sale and out of unsweetened. The sweet kind seemed too much.
