Prayer Requests 8-1-15

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 59

¹Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me.

Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.

For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Lord.

They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to help me, and behold.

Thou therefore, O Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.

They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.

Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear?

But thou, O Lord, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.

Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence.

10 The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.

11 Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.

12 For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.

13 Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.

14 And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.

15 Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they be not satisfied.

16 But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.

17 Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.

  1. BG returned to work tonight but she is in a lot of pain with her mouth. I called the emergency line for the oral surgeon this afternoon but he said it was nothing out of the ordinary. Mr. P had some ibuprofen 500 mg that he gave her. She rinsed her mouth with salt water. If nothing else this past week she has turned to him for pain medicine, salt water, and aftercare for her mouth. He makes the warm salt water rinse better than I do. (he he he) and so he makes it for her to rinse her mouth. He has given her the prescription meds because he has been the one that has been home with her. I think she may have decided that he is not Dr. Evil.
She and her daddy seem to be getting along better as well. He gave her some back to school money today and when we went by to pick it up before going to Shopping Hell, they got along quite well. But she still needs her Mommy to hold her and tell her everything is going to be OK. And of course I love that. I am so glad to have my baby home.

  2. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for a lovely summer day in the south. Everything is so green when I look outside from the comfort of air conditioned spaces. We have had rain to help this area during the major growing season thanks to You. Please give other areas rain that are in need. Please help out of control fires be halted. Please show Your power over the elements as a testimony to doubters of Your supernatural abilities.

Lord, please help the man who fell at church today. You know his needs. Also, I ask for continuing healing and comfort for AJ’s wife, Cheryl. Give her really good days during her down time. May the family draw close in love and care.

Please help Jo as she is suffering from arthritis symptoms. If it is brought on by dietary factors or stressful movements, please show her what to do differently for relief. Help her make decisions regarding exercises she is able to do that will not aggravate her symptoms.

I ask for a blessing for each member of the Nest today. Help any who have physical ailments to have comfort and disappearance of ailments. Please heal emotional hurts that fester for years. Please keep a sweet harmony within the home building and out on the grounds. I ask for good health for all their animals. May there be a smooth transition into the new school year.

Thank You, Father God, for taking care of BG’s wisdom teeth removal and turning it into a good time of connection and trust of Mr. P. Thank You that relationships are improving between family members.

Lord, I remember Karen O’s request to pray for Chrissy’s return. Please give a good outcome to her story like You gave to the prodigal son story. May she return home wiser and grateful for the love her parents always have for her. Please help Emily to soften toward Christian beliefs. May Forrest see the difference in practicing Christians and the world. I ask that You would lift Lee’s spirit as he waits on Ralph to finalize the route deal.

Lord, I pray for myself that I would be accomplishing more each day. Please help son as he is in crunch time at the end of a shortened summer session. Help him as he gears up for new challenges over fall semester.

I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  3. I am so sorry 6 and Karen–you are never far from my thoughts.
BG is still in a lot of pain. She didn’t relax and recuperate like she should have and now she is paying the price

  4. Thanks, Kim. Hope BG gets to feeling well soon.

SIL apologized now (not to me, specifically, but to the group), so I guess I will accept that. I feel somewhat better, anyway. Thanks for praying.

  5. Unfortunately, taking Forrest to church with us this morning did not go well, & we ended up leaving a bit early. Forrest did not want to be in the room with the kids, & Leon couldn’t get him to stay in there, & he was making too much of a fuss to bring him into the sanctuary.

Unfortunately, Forrest is not as civilized as he should be. I really think that having children in church from the time they’re babies helps them to learn some valuable social skills, & how to sit relatively quietly for a period of time. Forrest missed out on that. It didn’t help that he hasn’t had enough sleep the past couple of nights.

Emily is pretty firm with him in some areas, but sitting still in one place is not one of them.

It made me wonder how he is going to be when school starts at the end of the month.

Although I am quite disappointed, & wondering if he’s ever going to want to go back, I still acknowledge that it was quite the miracle for him to be allowed to go in the first place.
