  1. There’s an editorial in today’s Times-News, ( Actually an reprint from the LA Times about hackers commandeering Jeep Cherokee and causing it to run into a ditch.
Turns out, it was a test.
But the implications are serious. The key phrase in the story is, “any electronic pathway out of a car is a way in.” Ordinary people driving Avalon’s likely don’t have anything to worry about.
But airplanes have lots of ways out, That means the there are lots of ways to hack into planes.
I also suspect the Chinese have already provided “back doors” in some of the equipment they made for our fighter planes.

  2. Donna, I wish old men ruled. This generation is messing thing up in a big way.
But it’s our fault, we shouldn’t have given the Boomers so much. But I couldn’t deny Chuck things just to be doing it when I had it to give.

But Chuck turned out OK. No issues. I’m proud of him and them.

  3. Funny how each generation kind of blames the next (or the previous) one. But I’m not sure it’s all that simple. Forces simply come into play that have unforeseen consequences, most of it is not under anyone’s real control — except for God, of course. 🙂 Our refuge.

Ironically, the challenges of a great depression & WWII brought out the best in many people. A life of relative ease in the decades since, maybe not so much. But in the broader perspective, whose fault is it? I always look at the unfolding of history as God’s ordained will, both the good and the bad.

We can see things much more clearly in the rear-view mirror. But as it’s happening, we all just muddle through without the benefit of God’s eternal perspective, of knowing the future and where things are really headed.

  4. I blame the hippies. Then, and now. The clowns from the 60’s are now running the asylum. Well, them and their college student protege’s.
