Prayer Requests 5-29-13

Who has a request or praise to share today?

And it’s Wednesday, so don’t forget to pray for Gambia. 🙂

Psalm 71:1-3

1 In You, O Lord, I put my trust;
Let me never be put to shame.
2 Deliver me in Your righteousness, and cause me to escape;
Incline Your ear to me, and save me.
3 Be my strong refuge,
To which I may resort continually;
You have given the commandment to save me,
For You are my rock and my fortress.

  1. Aji Suun had to go to meetings and her chronic fatigue is acting up.
    After a very busy day yesterday, I woke up to painful cramps and other nasty intestinal symptoms. This is the third time in a month and a half – not good. We two aren’t the only ones having problems. It seems as the humidity increases, so does the illness. I don’t like to think what it will be like when the rains come.

  2. Heavenly Father,

    Thank You for the special beauty You put into Your creation in whatever part of the globe we are on. We see Your handiwork daily and praise You, awesome Creator. There is truly none like You, our living God.

    Today I lift up The Gambia to You for a special blessing. Pour Your Spirit into the land giving unrelenting desire to know the living God, the One Who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit all working together to save people from sin. Bless the missionaries there who work so hard to benefit the citizens of the land. I ask specifically that You would help Aji Suun as she is having chronic fatigue symptoms. Strengthen her, please Lord, when she feels weak and almost unable to go forward. Help her to discover new ways to do things so there is less energy required to complete the necessaries. Bless her in those unknown ways that go unseen but give proof of Your working in her life. I pray specifically for Phos as she experiences the intestinal distress from things in her diet. Please make known what the offending food or drink is so it can be avoided. Ease her symptoms, please Lord. Show her what meds or foods can counter the distress. Does she need cabbage to counter acid or yogurt to replace good bacteria? You know just the right prescription for You are the original Good Physician and our Healer God. Help her today so she might help others who suffer similarily. Thank You for Your benefits for these two ladies who are giving their all for Your needs in the world. We wait for Your answers in Your timing and in Your way. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen

  3. Thanks, Janice. I am used to a certain amount of intestinal discomfort, as I have irritable bowel syndrome, which my anti-malarial hasn’t helped; but this is something more. I make a new batch of yogurt every week and eat it every day. I only eat the village food when I go to a special event and have never had problems afterward, so I don’t think it is anything I eat. I develop fevers and joint aches with the symptoms, so I think it is an infection of some sort. This is the fun part of adjusting to a whole new set of germs.

  4. A colleague’s grandmother (early 90s) was taken to a Christian Science care facility after a fall over the weekend. The family is hoping the stay will be short. Prayer for healing, but also especially for her spiritual state. I don’t know her personally, but she’s a lifelong CS, rather rigid about it (no medications despite considerable pain, she wants only the most passive physical treatments).

    CS is one of those religions that is so unfortunate, for lack of a better word. They seem to be sweet, well-intentioned people but the church has so twisted Scripture and the gospel (which, from what I can understand, they don’t believe), that it can lead people astray while “sounding” very pious.

  5. I’d like to ask for prayer for my son again. He has gotten himself in trouble again and just refuses to do what’s necessary to stop this cycle of bad behavior, associations, and poor decisions. At 24 yrs old, it’s way past time he grows up and acts like an adult. At this point I don’t know what to do or tell him, so praying is all I can do. He knows better, yet doesn’t act like it. It’s frustrating, and it hurts.

  6. I would appreciate prayers for my SIL (Designer Girl’s husband) for a job. He is having another interview on Friday. His job will end soon, along with the family insurance.
