The Rules

OK, we need some ground rules here. This is to start, we’ll add more as necessary.

1. No cussing. If you can’t say it without cussin’, you probably shouldn’t say it. I will delete profanity.

2. Be nice.

3. It’s fine to debate and discuss differing positions. But please, no personal attacks. They will also be deleted.

4. That’s it for now.

  1. I’ll have to figure out which WordPress username and password I can get to work here. Thanks, AJ. You are indeed a “real” friend.

  2. Hi everyone! This feels like a scene from defiance where all the Jews are run out of town and are hiding in the woods trying to regroup. Who knows how to get food? Who knows how to cook? Who will pick blog topics?

  3. Woohoo! I already had a different user name stored and couldn’t figure out how to change it. But same pic/Avatar! This could be fun.

  4. Oh, and I have to say that when I googled this earlier I thought, “Nah, that’s not it. That’s a blog for dentists.” 🙂 (Do these smilies still work?)

  5. Congratulations to annms for posting the 100th comment on this blog today! Her post on “Hello world!” at 7:27 pm hit the mark! Now guess how I knew that? (I discovered it quite by accident.)

    • Okay, here’s how I discovered that AnnMS’s comment at 7:27 was the 100th. If you position the cursor over the date and time of anyone’s post, down in the bottom left corner of your computer screen you will see listed, among other things, which comment number it is.

So there’s your trivia for the day. You’re welcome… 🙂

  6. 6 Arrows……

Ah……. very good. Doing the same over the avatar picture will alow you to view profiles if folks want to post them. You can edit your own profile and make it public if you wish by doing this, and add an avatar, called a Gravatar I guess, as well. Now I just have to figure out which picture to use. And I guess I need to finally do a profile.

  7. Also, if you have your own blog and want to link it to your name, you can also do that in the profile feature. Then, anybody who cursors your name will see the site name on the bottom left, or to your gravatar profile. If they click it, it goes to yours. Cool huh?

  8. Wow. Quite the lineup of speeches tonight at the convention. I have to say I was impressed, especially by Ryan (the line about the 20-somethings stuck without a job in their childhood bedrooms at home, staring at the faded Obama posters on the walls, was classic).

Rice & the Governor of NM also were excellent. Of course, immediately there was a REPUBLICAN’S WAR ON WOMEN banner posted by someone I know on FB.

    Really?

  9. Hi everyone, I’m glad I stopped wandering long enough to check into WV tonight. I’m sorry to see the changes there. Subscriptions are not in my budget so I thought I’d be losing all of you until I saw Pauline’s post mentioning this site. Thanks, AJ.

  10. At what point does someone become “first”? Donna was here at 12:32, but that’s only 9:22 in herl time.
Romney speaks tonight but South Carolina plays Vanderbilt. So I’ll have wait to see what Mitt says.
    Go Gamecocks!

  11. Need a little advice this am: When I signed up to this blog yesterday, I made the mistake of checking yes to receiving email notifications for responses. I thought it meant only responses to anything I posted. Instead, I got emails about everything that anyone posted. Now I can’t find where to change that. If I click on my own name, I’m taken to my avatar only, no information. Clicking on Help in the info line (above, right on screen) didn’t help.
