Hello fellow dopesters! No, I’m not saying we’re all hooked on a drug or stupid. No, according to dictionary.com, a dopester is “a person who undertakes to predict the outcome of elections, sports events, or other contests that hold the public interest.” I got that in my daily email from that site. I’ve learned a few useful new words that way. I’ve also learned that it is possible to guess the results of ten college football games and be correct on all ten, as Chas did last week. He picked the tie breaker this week, which is his prize for winning. He actually suggested two different games, so both are here, but only one is the TB.

PS- Someone wondered if we’d ever had a 10 game winner. The answer is yes, Ricky Weaver did it once. I think there may have been another, but I don’t have any past years other than last year and 2016.

​Week 10 is upon is. Ten games. No one has won that many yet, especially here. And this week is going to be tougher. Think of it as an exam in a hard class. AJ set the tone by picking a tie breaker of two teams from the FCS (that’s D1-AA, the smaller colleges). Also, most of the games are between Top 25 ranked schools playing against other Top 25 schools in their conferences, including the #1 team going on the road to #3. So a lot is on the line this week. Oh, and I threw in a couple of “favorites” for AJ, along with the Pillow Fight.

It’s the ninth week. That’s not like the ninth inning of baseball, since there are yet a few more weeks to go. Or the ninth hole in golf, as this season is more than half over, unless a team goes to a bowl game. But it is getting down to the time of season where team records count, so I’m including them. The number eight. The Beatles had a popular song called “Eight Days a Week”. “Eight is Enough” was a popular TV show years ago. Eight wins in a college football season is pretty good. But here at Pickled Pigskins we can’t seem to get to that number correct. Only three of us have been able to get 8 or more correct out of ten games. And most weeks 6 gets a win, including Idaho Mike last week. Let’s see if we can improve. In order to help us out, I’ve included current overall and conference records for each team.
