  2. my sister had me over yesterday. Good time and a wonderful meal. Got to visit with my stepmom and her husband’s mom and aunt

    now to figure how to return the shoes I ordered and order new ones

    Yes, most of us ladies have age and stage in common. There are many burdens whether married or not. A husband who is not well over a long period is quite a burden. Art has physically been unable to help in many ways, but he has been a big help with our taxes and even in putting together the obit and producing the paper program for my brother’s funeral. He helps as he is able and has expertise, but it is not very general, and is very specific.

    I am using towels to sop up water from the leak in the bathroom. We have an appointment to.orrow so I can’t get a plumber scheduled yet. The emergency fee over the holiday is around $350 just to come out and then pay probably double time for costs of repair. I think the extra water bill is cheaper. I asked God for His wisdom on it.

  4. Another warm day but cloudy. We are in hopes for rain showers later.

    Sweet sister kitties up there. So thankful they didn’t get separated…a win for everyone!

    My friend asked me the other day “weren’t these supposed to be the “golden years??!”” I had to ponder that one. As we age we face different challenges.. some sort of expected some not so much. Relying upon the Lord to see us through is the greatest blessing in life…He is faithful ❣️

  8. Hey Janice, I assume your water bill will be especially high, but it’s worth telling your water company that you had a leak. I had something like a $1,200 water bill as my very first bill in Nashville, and I called the company. Since they had no history of what my normal bills were, they chose to charge only something like $25 (which actually ended up higher than my actual monthly bills, since I was single). I got the leak fixed as soon as I knew about it, but the second bill was also high, maybe $800, and they lowered that one as well. I checked to see what the final bills were for the previous owners, and they were normal bills, so I determined they didn’t know about the broken pipe.

    Eventually I realized what probably happened was that the previous owners used the next-door neighbor’s driveway to pack the UHaul, backing the truck from their driveway to the front door (using the house’s own driveway would have made it impossible to get to the front door because of trees), and the weight across that primary pipe broke it. They might have been responsible for the repair, but I didn’t know to seek that at the time.

  9. I just realized that I had commented on yesterday’s daily thread earlier by mistake. Michelle has a couple comments over on there, too. (They had to do with going through the belongings of a deceased relative.)
