Good morning to all. The big news here on local social media is the fact that the local mall has told the few remaining businesses or organizations with only indoor access that they will have to move out of the mall. It will be turned into only outdoor access. This seems so foolish in a climate of way below zero temperatures in the winter. The mall used to be such a wonderful place to walk and visit with others, in addition to the shopping. It was a vibrant place. I have heard that indoor malls are becoming popular in other areas again. What about where you live?
My husband was a fan of walking in the mall. There are other places to walk, so he will have to adjust as will the others we know walk there.
I know several young people who do not want to interact with anyone when they shop. It seems quite sad to me that so many are antisocial these days. I am not an extravert, by any means, but this goes beyond that.

The malls here have been bought up and repurposed for the most part. Our two nearest have for one been turned into a medical facility, and for our closest, it is being tur.ned into multi-use, being rebuilt into a community with housing, and an anchor Publix that will be a super store, restaurants, and other stores. It will increase our traffic beyond imagining. The third mall, Lenox Square, over in exclusive Buckhead, remains. I have not been there in years.
At Hilton Head the mall was being brought back to life after it had died. I was happy to see that because with so many tourists who have time to shop, they need that as an option for those who may not be able to do ther things.
80 degrees here heading to mid 80’s. And dry! Dental cleaning passed with flying colors. Ordered new eye glasses. Washed the car then filled up with gas since it went down to 3.98 a gallon. I then stopped in to make a hair appt with my neighbor’s stylist. This cut I got a couple weeks ago is driving me crazy….
The malls around here are barely surviving. I have not been in ever so long. I hear they have barricaded escalators, turned off drinking fountains and shut down bathrooms. Macy’s and Dillards still anchor one mall but are set to close next year. Sad how they once were bustling and now are ghost towns.
