We got home last night. We heard just now that they took our daughter off the dialysis and may remove her nasal cannula. We learned lots of new terms etc. Ignorance was bliss.

Pray for us about our church and also my own attitude and actions. Our part time pastor, along with a board lead along, has changed our church totally from what we had. He is not a people person and admits that. He has been there many years already. My husband managed to go to a monthly breakfast with him and a few other men this morning. The pastor never even asked about our daughter. However, a man we went to another church with, saw my husband and immediately came over to enquire and send his best. I have long been frustrated and upset over the pastor. The church is hanging on by a thread, so I am also reluctant to take support away and have the church close. It concerns me that my own children would have no support from him if something happened to us.

Church can be such a dilemma for people at our age. I relate to much of what you said, Kathaleena.

That is sad concerning the pastor Kathaleena…not being a people person is not excuse…being a follower of Christ brings with it compassion for others..

Even today the pastor did not acknowledge us. His wife did come and talk to me. Her husband was the one who almost died last year, so she understood what it was like. I did pray for our daughter during the time in our service for that. Others were concerned and/or had been praying. I really should have expected as much. My friend’s husband passed away, and he went to our church in the winter. She never got an acknowledgement from the pastor either. Very sad.

The good news is that our daughter is now in a normal ICU room. They were doing dialysis again this afternoon, but she is improving very much. She wanted a picture with her sisters this afternoon and she looks much better. Made my mother’s heart happy.
