Morning! Brr is right Aj! That cold is heading our way on Thursday!
Heading to the “local” cafe in the forest to have lunch with dear old friends from our former church. We are so blessed to have remained friends with so many from past churches we’ve attended. I have not made friendships at our current church of three years except for Miss Bea…she is our 92 year old precious treasure and her hugs are priceless!
Making friends at a new church can be hard, unless you know someone there already, especially if it’s a large church. Everyone has a group of friends and might not think to invite the new person to join them Keep looking, NJ. There’s bound to be someone you can befriend there.
Son has hit the road. The house is quite again. He usually has music, jazz or classical, playing. I will later put on praise music and an audio book after that.
I so agree on the difficulty at this age and stage in making friends at a new church. And when we are six months there and six months gone, we’ll, that just leaves people who don’t know our situation wondering, “What’s with those on and off Christians?” It is very frustrating. I am thinking of trying to engage in a prayer conference call ministry if the church has one or wants to have one. I have done that at my former church.
Well we had the most delightful lunch with our friends. Upon arrival at the cafe we were met with a sign “closed for today for a cleaning party”!! So we drove ourselves into town and lunched at Cheddars. We caught up on our comings and goings and will be intentional to not let five years pass again before getting together!
Cheddars is a chain restaurant kind of like BJ’s, Longhorn Steakhouse or Olive Garden. Lots of comfortable booth seating nice atmosphere.
We wanted to stay longer than the two hours but B had to get to his saxophone lesson! He decided to learn to play so that he could entertain the folk at nursing homes! He is playing big band music and they love it. Now we are inspired to learn something new in our old age!😊
So repair yesterday didn’t work. Now I’m at the dealership with it.
Brrrrr… 6 degrees this morning. 🥶

I have enjoyed burgers at Cheddars in the past.
Everyone in this area is supposed to get ready for the weekend winter storm. Not looking forward to the snow and ice.
