  1. I have a praise!

I had a CT scan of my torso and ultrasound of my kidneys on the 21st.

The results from the dr report came back. The kidneys look great, no signs of cancer or other issues. The CT scan showed no signs of cancer or abnormalities. All the new plumbing they installed is working properly as well.

I don’t need to see the dr. until Jan.

So for the first time in 5 years, cancer and its after effects will not disrupt my Christmas. 🙂

Thank you all who have prayed.

    Allen

  2. Yes, wonderful news, AJ! Thanks to the Lord!

I am also praying, NJ, that your family will not become divided on decisions about your mother. It is concerning to have a caregiver speak something that is not true and seeming to pit one against another. I would be on alert for any repeat. My family has never recovered from this period in our lives. Whether that will ever change is in God’s hands. You just never know.

  3. Aj that is a blessing of a good report!! Merry Christmas!! Thanking our Lord rejoicing!!

A text from my little sister this morning sending me on a roller coaster of emotions. After I spoke with the kind Mother yesterday, she turned into a very mean person last night.

She’s calling the police this morning and telling little sister to never come to see her again. She insists sis was on a “power trip” trying to take control over her life. I suggested having her tested for a UTI but sis is going to ask the doctor to prescribe a sedative just to be able to keep Mom at home. It is all such a mess. And now caregivers will need to be in the home round the clock or so it seems.

  4. How far away is she, NJ? Maybe you should take a visit.

    Thankful for your report, AJ.

Yes, valley fog is dangerous in California going down the Central Valley on I-5. My sister-in-law said the drive was terrifying–people driving way two fast and there are only two lanes in either direction (though they’re separated).

    Writing day here.

  5. We are 1800 miles away and family dynamics complicated. Mom has called sister apologizing and things are calm…little sis says just give Mom a minute and it can all change again.

My plan is to travel home in February for her birthday. I no longer tolerate travel much and with flights, hotels, rental cars and family drama…FaceTime is a blessing…along with phone calls

  6. Praising God with you for a good report.

Caring for elderly parents is stressful and challenging. Miguel has been dealing with this as he helps his sister with his mom. Prayers for peace between the offspring.

  7. NJ – So sorry for what is going on with your dear mom. Praying that you three sisters can be of one accord in all of this, which I know can be very difficult in these situations.

  8. Wonderful news, AJ! Really something to be thankful for (though I’ve been unable to “like” posts on here for months or a couple of years).

Oh, NJ, that is so tricky, not knowing from one moment to the next how your mom will react to any of you. 😦 And may the caregiver offer help and not further the stress and friction of this season.
