  1. Good morning! I was so blessed to see the northern lights last night. I know they have been visible several times this year, but I have always been working. They were beautiful!

  2. I copied this news from the web about my county being in a law suit along with some other counties across the nation against Social Media. I know our county has banned phones from classrooms. I don’t think my copy and paste captured all, but you will get the gist.

    “Financial Impact

DCSD is seeking financial compensation to recoup the costs associated with the harm caused by social media use. The district claims to have already spent over $4.3 million on programs and personnel to address these issues. Court documents show the district wants nearly $180 million in past damages and between $2.4 and $4.3 billion for a 15-year strategic plan to address student mental health needs.

    Current Status

The DeKalb County School District is one of six districts nationwide chosen as “bellwether” cases, meaning their trials will proceed first and could influence the outcomes of the hundreds of other similar lawsuits. The social media companies have sought to dismiss the claims, arguing the district lacks evidence that the platforms directly caused the alleged harms, which they attribute to broader societal factors. The first trial is expected to begin in 2026.
