The older one gets the more we see so many sad situations such as friends passing away or lingering with dementia. Unless you die young, you cannot avoid it. There is a verse that does say God takes some at a young age to keep them from experiencing some bad things. Filling yourself up with the Word helps keep things in perspective, as does fellowship with believers. It would be awful to not know the God who is trustworthy to do everything in the right time. There is a lot of weeping with those who weep.
I plan to make one last trip to Tahoe today and spend the night. Should be beautiful with fresh snow. I’m in no hurry as need the sun to warm things up first
That is so true, Kathaleena. I am a bit surprised that among the older people I know, some have such pride in how well they are doing compared to others. It is not a good thing to be around it. I once was in a situation of being with two ladies, one with an oxygen tank to drag and the other hobbling. The oxygen tank lady walked really fast to show how fit she was so she went well ahead of us. I felt pulled between the two.
We did hit the 1935 record high of 86° yesterday. It is dry heat, almost like desert weather where it feels cold at night and hot in the day.
Coolish autumnal weather around here and we actually had a thunderstorm last night! No snow?! We’ll take it for now.
Ran errands and now ready to clean this house. We are cleaning out the basement and put on Nextdoor neighbor an armoire and 3D printer for free. We just want them gone! Two people said they are interested but nothing yet..we shall see. We may just take them to the dump!
I had not looked on the back side of our house lately, but when I checked today, the patio had a covering of four to six inches of fallen leaves! I took my big rake out there and got busy. This drought has cleared the leaves from the poplar tree. The Birthday Tree still has its green leaves. Such a strange year.

Heading home.
Finally!
my OC talk last night was disrupted by a gas leak and we hurried to the patio of a nearby restaurant.
Couldn’t get the phone and Youtube to cooperate, so I ended up just telling the Chambers story.
I just laughed.
Had a great time overall in a beautiful place north of Detroit.
