I was just talking to someone whose mom is now living in an independent living facility because of a spouse’s needs. The mom is not happy about it and the daughter is urging her to consider volunteering somewhere or finding something good about her situation. Then I read this story, which is so apropos.
Well Happy 26th Anniversary Aj and Cheryl!! Here’s to at least another 26! Next week my eldest daughter and her husband will celebrate their 27th anniversary…my my my my!!
That story is so good Kathaleena! What a pleasure Mimi is and a treasure to all who know her I’m certain.
I ran errands then stopped in to see my dear friend in the memory unit. She would definitely be a Mimi if she was not diminished in her brain capacity. She has always been an extrovert to my introvert and she has been so engaging with everyone she has met.
We went for “a walk on the clouds” this afternoon as she put it and we ended up down the hall at the community room where they were having a hymn sing. It was lovely and she participated as much as she could…she cannot remain still , in constant motion but she did hit some high notes which captured the attention of the more sleepy residents in attendance!
We had a rain/hail storm move through and it is downright chilly outside now…autumn…definitely autumn….
