I opened up my online Bible study and the teacher apologized for the lengthy commentary today. First thing she speaks on is that the Hebrew word as used in the Bible also has the mean8ng serve, that various translations use one or the other word.
Went to Elizabeth and Kiowa. Visited with shoppe owner friends found a delightful non profit thrift shoppe and came home to rain showers!!! Not a lot of rain but we shall be thankful for every drop! 🌧️
We are having a gully washer that cooled down this 94° day to 74°.
There are never enough shopping days until Christmas. I received an order today from Christianbook that included ten bracelets, made in the Holy Land, with olive wood beads, that I put away to include in Christmas cards for my Bible study friends.
OK, this is fun. First a little background. Each year my local photography club holds a juried show, in which you can submit up to five photos, and three jurors from outside the club choose which ones can go into the exhibit (roughly a third of the entries are accepted). Two years ago I sent five photos and was shocked to have three accepted (I was hoping they’d accept two), but last year I sent five, too, and they didn’t accept any.
This year I entered five shots in a separate juried show, and all five got accepted. I also sent five to the show with the photography club, including three shots they didn’t accept last year–and four of them got accepted, including all three of those. (Two we re-edited a bit, but one was exactly the same as submitted last year. It later got accepted into a calendar, so I figured it was well worth retrying. It’s different jurors each year, and so I simply figured last year’s jurors didn’t like my work, oh well.)
So, ten photos sent to juried exhibits, nine of them accepted, a 90% acceptance rate!
For those who remember my story of the jurors publicly critiquing some photos and saying why they were rejected, and they thoroughly attacked my photo of a young hawk: my husband very lightly re-edited it (basically getting rid of one hot spot and lightly improving the contrast) and I slightly recropped it, but it got accepted this year, and it is basically the same photo.
(Not to detract from Cheryl’s success, I’ll post this.)
When my son was 3 months old, I had Mrs L hold him up to a small window in our door, as the sun was shining through it. I entered the photo in the county fair and got 3rd prize!
Since it’s the only time I’ve submitted a photo, I’ve been successful in every photo contest I’ve entered!
Wow. August is half-way gone! Enjoy your Friday.

I had hoped to see Peter here first and my hope did not disappoint!
Thanks, again, Peter, for the funnies. Thanks, AJ, for the daily efforts to let us keep good company here.
Today my Experiencing God Bible study instructs me to spend extra time in worship. Now to choose how I can best do that.

Hmm . . . a clue as to how I am to worship today?

God demanded of Pharaoh, “Let my people go so they may worship (serve) me.”

Years ago Mrs L said she hoped our children didn’t move far away. Up until now they’ve all been within a 2 or 3 hour drive away.
Now, D2 and family are moving to the Eugene, OR, area to be close to her husband’s family. Oh, well. Time to plan a trip to the Pacific Northwest!
