  1. Good morning! We’ve had much rain early this morning, and continuing temps in the 60’s. I love this weather in August. I feel like I am in the Smoky Mountains. As a child, we took short summer trips to the mountains to get a break from the heat. Reminiscing. . .

  2. Morning. Family has departed and I am washing towels sheets and quilts. Vacuuming mopping and dishes. Night before they arrived the dishwasher died.

It was a sweet visit with a touch of chaos but no more visitors are scheduled to visit this year….😊

  3. so last night with fear and trembling, no kidding, I sent a text to all of my kids inviting them to dinner tonight. It was very scary for me. They said yes and amazed me. So please pray as I get a meal ready and prepare. It has been a year with very little contact except with the youngest.

  4. Well, not quite at the beginning of September, but as the month goes on, the fall weather comes in.

And yes, I am one of those ladies who gets excited about Pumpkin Spice Coffee time coming along. 😀 I joked with a friend that fall should be called the Pumpkin Spice Season. 😀

  5. Yesterday started with me feeling discouraged and depressed about how this rehab process is dragging out. Not sure I mentioned it, but the first contractor, a man from my church, has had to pull out of it because the loan is a HUD loan, and he does not deal with those. (I have since learned that only a handful of contractors do deal with those.)

This morning, I was feeling a little more chipper as, this being a day off for her, Nightingale was going to go down to the new bakery and coffee shop that is having its grand opening today, and buy some lattes and goodies for us. (We ended up being disappointed in the quality, and disappointed that what had been a local, independent coffee shop for years has been bought by a small chain. But we will give them more time to settle in, and try again sometime.)

As Nightingale was getting ready for the day, we had a wonderful and kind of amazing surprise. The lights above the vanity in my bathroom, along with the outlet on the wall right outside my bathroom have not been working since a storm last fall. As she often does, Nightingale reflexively flipped on the switch to the lights that don’t work.

But this time, all of a sudden, they came on! And the outlet on the other wall is working, too!

I have no idea how that has happened, but I am very grateful!

  6. Jo we cover you in prayer knowing His presence will envelope your home as you gather…may this initial step lead to more leaps and bounds in relationship.

Kizzie that is a sweet blessing of a surprise indeed! Continued prayer concerning the renovations at your home.❣️

I believe living without a dishwasher would be doable but when having family visit with continual cooking and cleaning up it sure comes in handy! How’d we survive in the dark ages of childhood?! Oh yes , Mom had three girls to do the cleanup !😂

  7. Good afternoon on this beautiful summer day. Just in from hanging laundry out. While there, I heard a hen talking to her chicks. An escapee that managed to survive the raccoons long enough to hatch out a clutch so the cats could have some tasty morsels. However, her clucks were coming from the chicken tractor where she had five of her chicks, so I shut her in and went around, gathering the four extras, put them in with her, no more calling so hopefully got them all. Then added water and food and looked with resignation at all the gaps daughter left in it when she prepared it for trapping chickens. Just large enough for chicks to get out and weasels to get in. I did what I could with little effort. She will finish when they return from a movie.

the dishwasher here is used for storing the drainer when not in use.

  8. Absolutely love my dishwasher.

Kizzie, we had a similar experience. Our inside garage lights would not work. After several weeks, just before we had an electrician come out to do some other work, the lights came back on. We still have no idea why.

The jam group played at a National Night Out Event. It was a fun evening, although I would love to go to our own community event sometime. It is much larger as it combines three communities.

  9. The evening went very well. I was amazed. Three teens came first and I had food for them as they had to go to a meeting. The boyfriend stayed and ate with all of us.

The five cousins so enjoyed being together. I showed my girls the property lines that I had found. Then they moved a hose and set up an easy way for me to water in the back. Left my house clean and put back together.

There was a very rousing game of Uno, these kids are sharp. I let the kids each take a beanie baby. Got a picture with the grands. And the kids said that they liked my house.

    Blessed

So grateful for the prayers, Jo
