Palestinian land? Palestinians were Jews and Arabs living in the land of Palestine. It wasn’t until Israel was born as a nation that the ‘Palestinian’ people claimed an identity and an ethnicity that they had never claimed before. The concept of a future Palestinian state would consist of people who are not content to live peacefully in the nation of Israel. The new state would actually be a Jew-free state. Why should we support carving out a new state along ethnic lines?
Contending that ‘Palestinians’ have the right to form a separate state is like saying that Hispanic or Latino immigrants in the USA have the right to stake out land in the US and form their own nation.
‘Palestinians’ didn’t accept the UN’s partition in 1948 and left voluntarily, trusting the promises of Arab governments that their militaries would defeat the Jews and they could then return to a Jew-free land. (The Jews were willing to live side-by-side with their Arab neighbors.) However, when attacked, the Jews turned out to be better fighters than anticipated, and their territory actually expanded from what the original partition called for.
Jordan controlled the “occupied territories” from 1948-1967. Why didn’t they create a Palestinian state when they were actually in a position to do so?
Israel has been attacked many times over the last 77 years. Because of this, they have occupied territory as a defensive measure to protect themselves from people who have been set on annihilating them. Israel has been very reasonable in these things. Yet when Israel gave back Gaza, the first thing the ‘Palestinians’ did was launch missiles. Israel returned the Sinai peninsula after Egypt was willing to make a true peace agreement with them. Israel is willing to make peace with any government or entity that is sincerely willing to reciprocate.
Bottom line: A two-state solution would not somehow convince Arab states and terrorist groups to lay down their arms and change their minds about their common goal – the destruction of Israel – that they have taught in their schools, preached in their mosques, and reinforced in their media since 1948.
For there to be peace in Israel, the answer is not apartheid. It seems that the only real chance for peace would be a one-state solution, with both peoples integrated like they were before 1948. Segregation only leads to increased hostilities (as we know from our own history).

However I am not hostile to Israel and I pray for their peace as well as the peace of any number of other places, including Ukraine and Russia.
