Former WMB friend and brother-in-Christ Jim U. (aka MakeItMan) posted this on Facebook. (I asked permission to share it here.)
~ “Have you ever noticed that it’s the trials in life that result in the most personal growth?
It’s not the periods of prosperity and success that stretch you. It’s forging in the fire, hammer, and anvil if Life Trials that produces personal growth and character.
In the end, despite the agony and pain, you find that you’d go through it all over again if it resulted in delivery from the dark pit of prison which is sin. Even more so if you gain a restored relationship with your Creator. Which, by the way, is the only way to break those chains, bring you into the light, and set you on the Rock of Freedom which is Jesus.
There’s no where I’d rather be than basking in the unlimited unsurpassed Love of God. Id rather be able to walk with him and take my cares to him than have acccomplishments, wealth, power, or fame.
If I have God, there’s nothing in this world that can separate me from him.
This is how I’m making it through a current life threatening situation. I’m literally walking through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, but My Shepherd is with me. He has blessed me with his presence and love daily since the diagnosis. And if the worst should happen there is *still*, and always, Life in the house of the Lord forever.” ~
Thank you for posting that, Kizzie. Prayers for him. He used to live in the mountain town in GA where our son attended a beautiful church camp. Maybe he still lives in that area.
