  1. Good morning, all. We have gone through crocus, mountain lily, daffodils, forsythia, pears, cherries, plums, apples, peaches, serviceberries, honeyberries, blueberry, currants, maples, walnut, and are now in lilac. It is fun to see the variety and the order put in place by God so they all blossom in their time. We see a succession of beauty and the pollinators can enjoy the lengthy season. What creativity.

  2. Mother’s Day is hard. I did get phone calls. Even from the one daughter who does not call. Turns out that she is planning on moving here from Colorado since she has to sell her house due to the divorce

that will be hard. The girls now spend half their time with their dad

    hard for me too

  3. Pretty flowers!
Sometimes the expectations of greeting card designated days are painful. For some they are great. I would rather the day be shown the door as well.

Living room project underway with lots of noise. The guys showed up at 8! I need more coffee. ☕️

  4. My activity was to collect Stargazer’s seven boxes in his brother’s basement. I thought we’d have one or two. Eight total at the moment.

Instead of other things, I’ll be spending my day sifting through my son’s childhood and jettisoning the ridiculous and too old–but not any memories, I hope.

I hadn’t even finished going through the one box at my house!

  5. A friend shared on Facebook that she had the best Mother’s Day ever. She and her husband were unable to conceive a child, and after several years, they got a foster child, and then went through a long process to adopt. Adoption went through sometime last year, and I previously attended the adoption party. Yesterday, at church, her husband got to baptise their son who is elementary school age. I am so happy for her. I was a reference for the adoption agency they used .

I am thankful that Mother’s Day can have special meaning at least for some people. But I recognize how others feel great pain because it tends to force people into action or rebellion against what they think is expected of them or dictated that they must do. It is artificial. It does, hopefully, prompt some people into giving a bit of thought to God’s command to honor one’s mother and father.

  6. I had a lovely floral arrangement sent to my Mom. She said she didn’t receive any flowers. My sis checked the cameras. The sweet delivery guys handed them to my Mom at the door and she set them on her coffee table where my sis saw them on Saturday. For just one brief moment in time my Mom knew I sent her flowers 💔
