  1. China has an enormous problem with its labor force, aging population, and draconian monetary policies. It is tremendously over-extended financially with entire cities of tall skyscraper housing sitting empty–all built on the pension funds of its workers.

Two generations after the “One Child Policy” went into affect, they’ve raised “prince and princess” children who don’t want to work in factories and who have been doted on their entire lives.

China’s making moves now on the geo-political because in another 10 or so years, they won’t have a large enough army (population-wise) to accomplish anything. (That’s the same reason Russia invaded Ukraine–they needed Russian-speaking populations because they don’t have enough people in their country. And, of course, they’ve now killed off a generation of their men–another desperate and foolhardy move).

10 years ago, American companies began to realize China was no long an inexpensive place to do business. Vietnam and India have a larger (and more desperate if you will) labor force, and companies have stopped investing in China.

    Interesting times, for sure.

When governments become desperate–and that, frankly, probably includes our over-extended nation–desperate things start to happen.

    The safest solution?

Make sure your heart and soul are right with God.

  2. These are exciting times to live in if we are leaning on the Lord. He is still working in his people, and the kingdom is increasing in the earth. The spiritual warfare that occasions is both a duty and a privilege.

As light begins to shine in the dark corners of our politics and economic life and religious institutions we can’t afford to be too shocked or afraid. We don’t have to solve all the problems, but giving voice to his truths can bring the solutions he intends, whether we like them or not .

  3. Yes. I was recently contemplating how the early disciples were thrilled that they were considered worthy to suffer for the Lord. That suffering can look very different for each of us. No matter our status, bank account or circumstances, all of us are witnesses and that may bring small or great suffering. God has promised, however, to always be with us and that those who suffer will have a great reward.

It is interesting and exciting to see how God is working in the world.
