  1. We have a beautiful, blue sky also. Snow predicted later on. We are quite dry, but a little at a time would be nice.

Janice, we live on a dirt road, so car washes do little good for long. I do admire those lovely clean cars we pass on the road.

  2. Help!

I am finally trying to do my taxes. Filling out the short form shouldn’t be hard, right? I have been using the copy of a previous year’s return to guide me. But now I have come to something that does not seem self-explanatory.

Also, I realized that I did not receive all the information I should have.

On the back of Form 1040, the very top (lines 1 – 24) is for Tax and Credits. All that was listed on the previous year’s form (this was done by Turbo Tax that year), is that I owed $51. But I have no idea where that number came from. Below that, that amount was subtracted from the tax I had paid on my pension, and the result was how much tax was overpaid.

Does anyone know (Janice probably does) what that would be referring to?

I used to be more intelligent, and able to do these things. 😦

  3. I’m home after five wonderful days in New England of, well, of course, talking, talking, talking.

I even got to meet Kizzie!

And we talked and talked (and ate lunch) for a couple hours.

A wonderful time and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to see many of the sites of my submarine life, visit with a dear friend, see Kizzie, speak to 75 women in Saratoga Springs, and, well, talk and talk and talk with my Navy wife friend!

    A great life.

Now I’m trying to remember what real life is like! LOL.

  4. The tax form I was using was from a couple of years ago. Looking on last year’s (prepared by Turbo Tax), the number in that section was 0, so I guess I don’t have to deal with it after all. 😀

  5. So glad for another blog meet up! Now I hope for a header photo of y’all together!

Kizzie, I have not looked at tax forms in years so would not be of help. Art is not available right now to ask. Yesterday I fried his eggs at 5 a.m., and today later but still too early. I can’t ask him anything tax related for the short hours he is home, lol But it sounds like you have it figured out, PTL, seriously. Taxes are so frustrating for everyone and should not be so difficult as they have evolved to be. I call for Tax Reform!

  6. I just looked through the copies of our finished forms. It is mind-boggling and I don’t know how anyone keeps up with it. Thank God some can do so!

  7. I pay someone to do my taxes. Not ideal, but the much better option for me considering my lack of patience and mental capacity for detailed paperwork. And lack of time.

Had a dental appt late today – it’s very windy & cold here so I skipped the walk with Abby.

Very loud coyote somewhere next door, in the backyard, I think, late last night. It’s mating season and they are very VOCAL.

Abby was barking in response from inside the house.
