The family arrived successfully at the vet’s. We had a bit of a setback. Last night, we had the children put the kittens in the chinchilla cage, placed in the back of the truck for further precaution. But when daughter went out this morning to remove their water, all had escaped the cage but were still in the truck. We managed to sneak her into the back of the truck but because they had left all the kennels out in the snow, had to carefully hand them out one at a time so her brother could get them in the kennels. I reached in under the lid to take one while she kept the others from escaping. My husband’s fingers no longer work well due to his RA, but he reached in for one and had it but it got away. Happily, it walked over to son who promptly popped it into its cage and off they went for their appointment with destiny. Or Kim.
There’s a dog romance going on here, Nico from next door (he gets out a lot) was at my front door last night whining as Abby barked back from inside the house.
Nico’s owner said they’ve been doing that at the back fence for a while now, too. But especially ever since their thrilling nose-to-nose actual in-person(dog) meetup here this week — followed by the very exciting play date — those two really are pining away for each other.
Happy Valentine’s month.
Corralling kittens, not an easy job …
Fresh snow drifts sound lovely.
Hope art feels better soon, a lot is going around, and now it sounds like the flu is beating out Covid for the season.
We had a good steady rain last night, most all night, which was needed (with the except of my old house). Should be clear going forward until around next Wednesday-Thursday-Friday when more rain is expected. But we definitely need it. It poured in the last 2 years (El Niño), but this year has been dry (La Niña) and just cold.
Here in Connecticut, we have been having an exceptionally windy winter, today included. (I do like wind, unless I have to be out in it in cold weather. But I don’t have to, so it’s okay! 🙂 )
Boy had some kind of virus earlier in the week, but is back to school now. Now Nightingale has it. I am virus-free so far, and hoping I stay that way.
We had more wind this past year that I am used to having. It seems to have settled down for a while. It has been so peaceful lately, but the humidity is up so I do get sweaty when I walk quickly.
I do prefer the 50s and 60s for walking, but the flowers start popping out when it hits the 70s so that’s the trade off. I take a lot of breaks for photos when the flowers arrive.
I saw the original. It was at a time when I dated someone for many years, and movies were our main thing to do on a date.
The best I recall, it was a movie that kept my attention and was a bit different than others we had seen. I think we saw a lot of Woody Allen movies back then and Jack Nicholson. Also espionage and things about war, like Patton, which I did not care for.

Art is home sick with a cold that migrated to his chest. No sore throat or fever. Mucinex is helping to keep things flowing. Praying I won’t get it.
The weather continues to be sunny and feel like spring. We had a big overnight shower. Flowers are starting to bloom. Way too early but beautiful.

Windy and coolish here. A day to stay indoors…I wouldn’t fare well in Chicago….Windy City sounds tortuous to my brain! We have too much wind here.

Feels like eight here, supposedly. My dad is postponing his walk, but I am not expecting it to get warmer today.

A columnist I read mentioned in passing: “Almost every American adult has seen a ‘Godfather’ movie.”
I wondered if that is true, so I am taking this non-scientific survey.
I have never seen a Godfather movie.

I have seen at least part of a Godfather movie, possibly all of it, but it didn’t make much of an impression on me and it was decades ago.

I saw The Godfather…1972. I was on a date. The movie didn’t interest me neither did the date!
