“This is insane. I hosted this event and @NYMag intentionally left me out of their story because it would have undermined their narrative that MAGA is some racist cult. They also didn’t include the fact that @WakaFlocka and @Gervontaa were also there.
The president’s statement that the US military in California has “TURNED ON THE WATER flowing abundantly from the Pacific Northwest, and beyond” is nonsense, as anyone who knows anything about water in California knows.
There is no infrastructure to bring water from the Pacific Northwest into California. All they do is shunt California water from one part of the state to another.
Debra, I had never considered that the weakest, most sensitive person might be the one manipulating conversation, like driving conversations to bend to their sensitivities. I suppose that is a possibility in some cases though it might go unrecognized and be unintentional, it still could be the practical result.
I think God must have put different filters in His children. When young, I blushed so easily, back when I was more innocent. I grew out of blushing as I became worldly wise. I have at times wished I could still blush about things, regain innocence. I know I was not trying to manipulate by blushing, but it sure got a lot of attention when people tried to say things for the fun of seeing my face go red. It was a horrid feeling, like sickness coming over me. It was nothing I could control or would have done to manipulate people.
I think each incident probably needs to be considered individually as to motivation. I have two friends who are criers. One is an artist, so very sensitive. I know she does not manipulate with tears. The other one might have her moments to shed tears because she knows how to use them.
Does it equate to “loving Trump” if we choose to say positive things about what we appreciate him doing? If we fail to have balance between saying good and negative things? We may love that he won over the alternative, but that does not mean we blindly love every little thing he does.
Kevin, how is water “shunted “? I read that 77% of the water melt coming from the mountains in northern California is sent into the sea. There must be some mechanism….
Debra, I’m not sure what you read about snow melt being “sent” to the sea. It naturally flows from the mountains to the ocean.
There are several systems of aqueducts that divert water from parts of the state with lots of it to farmland in the central valley and to the water-challenged southern part of the state. Pumping stations along the way keep it moving when it needs to go uphill.
Most of it comes from northern California mountains. A lot of it is captured in the central valley on its way to San Francisco Bay. Los Angeles built an aqueduct system over 100 years ago to bring water from the Owens River on the east side of the Sierras. A lot of southern California’s water also comes from the Colorado River.
Maybe he’s planning to build you some dams and reservoirs and mechanisms to catch that water that runs naturally to the ocean. Freshwater is more valuable than salt water. I don’t know but it should be interesting. I look forward to seeing something positive happen there. There’s been too much grief. :–)
Ridiculous. Shut it down.

In our area there is a system of locks and dams that allow water to be released or held back.

Excellent idea, Debra! It should counter the rising of the oceans due to glaciers melting with global warming. Problem solved!
