  1. Yes, and I have (get?) to work 9½ hours today. Oh, joy! It’s a gift shop the new cave owners purchased where the trolley tours begin. The shop is usually dead all day, so I guess I’ll get some reading done.

  2. Happy Birthday, Peter! I suppose it could be fun to spend a day in a gift shop on one’s birthday selecting gifts for oneself.😀 Praying for you to at least meet some interesting people there. May your reading be pleasant and your time with loved ones delightful!

  3. Happy Birthday Peter!

And happy Friday to all. First day of LA Fleet Week, woo-hoo.

But it looks like after some Fleet Week assignments today, I’ll be free of it for the 3-day weekend, I can’t even tell you how wonderful that will be.

Friend from “The Valley” (north part of LA city) is making the hourlong drive down with her brother, she’s determined to tour the aircraft carrier.

I was a bit jealous when I saw photos last night of the NY Fleet Week (which is also this weekend, kind of cool to have the bicoastal events on the same weekend); photos showed a Navy ship, crew all out and lined up on deck in their dress whites, sailing past the Statue of Liberty.

We need a statue in our harbor. 🙂

It’s cool and overcast (with possible drizzle this morning), perfect Fleet Week weather.

  4. I am admiring my backyard with all the wood sticks and leaves gone. They already took away the 8 bags down by the road

now I need to think of planting. My friend has some vinca ready for me. Just need to dig the holes

  5. Guess there weren’t enough trolleys for some of our ship tours today, friend who went down there said it was a 2-hour wait, he wasn’t happy.

The event I covered was somewhat of a wash but at a beautiful setting — our 150-year-old lighthouse on the bluffs overlooking the ocean.

mumsee, I’ve only seen the Statue of Liberty from land (but it was still quite spectacular), I was there not long after 9/11 and they weren’t taking folks out for security concerns.

  6. We were coming in on the transatlantic repositioning cruise. Our accommodations were much nicer than most folks coming through Ellis Island.
