  1. ⛄️⛄️⛄️Morning!!! We got more than two snowflakes!!! Awakened to close to two feet and living in a snow globe! Forecasting nine more inches today….snow as heavy as concrete and husband attempting to make a path for the dogs to go out and take care of business!!

Some parts of the front range are getting hammered and some get just rain. Hoping all stay safe in this mess! So thankful for God’s provision of moisture! ❄️

  2. Good morning! Pretty day in Atlanta. We got up in the 70s yesterday and expect the same today.

Kizxie’s call for prayer for Russia and Ukraine yesterday made me think to share this. Those countries are on our weekly prayer list as church concerns. Ouf pastor was a missionary for a number of years and first went to Ukraine maybe for a short term project and later he and his wife lived in Moscow. One Sunday he told about almost losing his wife and first child in childbirth. As a last ditch effort to save them, a midwife was called in who got up on the table and got that baby out! That baby is now one of our ordained pastors, PTL!

We have had pastoral prayer several times specifically over the conflict because the pastor and family have Christian friends in both places. We also have an older member from Ukraine who has told of the difficilties of her family still over there.

  3. We got a dusting though can’t really call it that as it is the wet stuff.

Husband is off on another adventure. He flies to Connecticut to see the christening of the submarine to be christened USS Idaho. The plan was to go with his sister and meet our son and family from New York and our son and family from Virginia. It was initiated by husband, sons got on board. Funny thing is both sons received their invitations to attend but neither husband nor his sister got theirs. So it may be just a family visit followed by the son’s and families attending.

  4. I have a hectic day today (and tomorrow) with a news conference at the port today w/visiting EPA director, trying to finish up a story on some park crime that’s bumped our popular summer Shakespeare performances to a neighboring city this year (but trouble getting hands on the police report I needed), and a busy Friday-Monday ahead as well.

I managed to get a haircut appt on Saturday, front section of hair is literally falling in my face now.

Prayer that wars will end and bring true peace and justice. And much prayer for the US in what looks like a disturbing election cycle ahead in our own homeland.

  5. Oh, how fun to see the Idaho brought into service! I just wrote a scene in a novel about the commissioning of a submarine.

It could be glamorous . . . but who in your family is attached to the boat?

M, who moved a pile of dirt today for the front yard, and thought of a winter in CT when I had to dig up the septic tank in a snow storm.

The toddlers helped with their Tonka trucks.

Husband, of course, was sitting on the bottom of some ocean enjoying himself.

Well, maybe not the enjoying part.

  6. EPA administrator was at the port for what was a very windy boat tour (which I skipped) and shoreside news conference. My hair was blowing in my face the whole time, I could have used mumsee with her scissors.

  7. Last measurement was 30 inches of wet heavy snow. Husband got the driveway cleared but it is being covered again with a predicted 8 inches? I cleared the deck twice and there is an additional 5 inches so far…wondering if a plow will make it out here to make a path on our roads…

My sweet neighbor who has dementia was taken to the hospital this afternoon by ambulance. The accompanying emergency vehicle got stuck at the corner so my other neighbor went over with a blade on his truck and cleared a path for the ambulance then freed the other emergency vehicle that got stuck! Praying for my sweet friend….we aren’t certain what happened exactly…

oh but it is so beautiful outside and the air is mountain fresh!
