  1. We are back into winter today, albeit, warmer than normal yet. I much prefer the dusting of snow and iced over puddles to the gloomy rain we had yesterday. It is less confusing for the plants, too.

    Good morning to all.

  2. I head back to the hospital at 130 today for an iv/infusion and then a CT scan to follow ag 330.

Then on Monday I will see the Dr. for the results and to see if he thinks I will need another surgery to put the nephrostomy tube back into the right kidney. I still have a drain on the right side and it’s been filling multiple times a day. They took a sample and it’s mostly urine, which means there’s still a leak. It just never ends.

  3. I was moaning about my work day until I saw AJ’s post, he’s clearly got a tougher few days ahead. 😦 Praying all goes as smoothly as possible and no more surgery will be needed. I’m so sorry you’re going through this.

Good to see you, Cheryl, and everyone else. We have sunshine today — and I managed to get Abby out for her walk last night right before yet another little rain spell hit. But I think (?) we’re done for now.

  4. Snow here again this morning.

    Children off to work again.

Husband home so we played some cribbage.

Dad woke from his nap to the realization his wife is no longer with us. For quite some time his mind had erased both wives. Back to grieving.

  5. Good afternoon from partly cloudy Atlanta where it will be 66° later if the weather folks got it right.

A tax client dropped by their large envelope of documents for Art. He asked if Art talks of retirement and I said he never speaks of it.

I invested in a program about healing cancer naturally through lifestyle changes so I have started into the videos. I want to keep making changes through diet, supplements, exercise, etc. so I can be proactive against any reoccurrence. It takes time, energy, and money to do such things, but better to do it on the front end than have to do the same expenditures on the other end.

  6. Aj we continue to walk alongside you in this journey. I know this is so discouraging for you. There is a light at the end of the tunnel somewhere, sometime! Trusting the Lord to shine that light!!

A friend and I had to cancel our breakfast out plans due to slickery roads this morning. We should have planned lunch because the skies are blue and the road conditions have cleared up nicely … before the next snow storm hits this evening!

  7. NJ, I wonder if your incoming snow is from our outgoing system heading inland. Our mountains got more than a fair amount of snow out it.

So who all will be watching the Super Bowl on Sunday? I really don’t have a team to root for this time but I can still enjoy a good game so I may at least pop in here and there to watch. I was sort of pulling for Detroit to make it in as they were such the underdogs.

One of our dog park couples — a funny and gregarious retired AF Col., a big guy, and his petite southern wife whom he met in college — would host a Super Bowl gathering on the lower level of their home that overlooks our southern coastline in town, beautiful view and the room was outfitted with a bar and large-screen TV. Bets were taken by some in the group.

Fun times, though many of us football lightweights who had no money riding on it would drift out at half time. The retired colonel, whom we all loved so much, died several years ago. 😦

  8. Great to hear your “voice,” NJ. I always hear voices in my head to go along with writings😃

I have no plans to watch the Super Bowl, but plans can always change. The half-time show seems like it could be better this year than in recent years

  9. Halftime should be good.

And two good teams are playing so it should be an exciting game as well? But you never know.

~ While kick-off starts at 6:30 p.m. ET on Feb. 11, if you want to tune into the Super Bowl pregame, including the singing of the national anthem, you’ll want to start watc to start watching at 5 p.m. ET. ~

If football isn’t your thing, there’s always the Puppy Bowl!

~ Puppy Bowl is celebrating 20 years of sweetness with Puppy Bowl XX; don’t miss a moment of the three-hour event filled with over 130 puppies. ~

The most important day in canine football is almost here.

Over Super Bowl weekend, the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers will face off in Super Bowl LVIII, airing on CBS on Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. ET. Still, another must-see game is happening the same weekend, especially if you are an animal lover.

Puppy Bowl 2024 will air on the same Sunday as Super Bowl 2024, and the adorable event, now in its 20th year, promises to be the “puppiest” Puppy Bowl ever. Viewers can expect to see over 130 dogs taking part in the big game, including the Puppy Bowl’s first assistant referee — Whistle the rescue pup.

All participating pooches are rescue dogs who traveled to Puppy Bowl 2024 from more than 70 rescues across 36 states and territories. A variety of puppies will be competing for Puppy Bowl 2024’s WAYFAIR “Lombarky” trophy under the watchful eye of returning referee Dan Schachner.

The Puppy Bowl 2024 annual one-hour pre-game show on Animal Planet will begin at 1 p.m.ET/10 a.m. PT. The pre-show will include a behind-the-scenes look at the Puppy Bowl draft and a peek at the Kitty Halftime Show.

  10. CBS and Paramount+

The game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. ET (3:30 p.m. PT) on Sunday. Expect NFL-style pageantry before the game actually starts, including the national anthem sung by country star Reba McEntire. We suggest tuning in at least 15-20 minutes early to catch that performance, plus Post Malone’s “America the Beautiful” and Andra Day’s version of “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
