Prayer Requests 11-18-23

Anyone else have something to share?

Psalm 119:113-128

ס Samekh

113 I hate double-minded people,
    but I love your law.
114 You are my refuge and my shield;
    I have put my hope in your word.
115 Away from me, you evildoers,
    that I may keep the commands of my God!
116 Sustain me, my God, according to your promise, and I will live;
    do not let my hopes be dashed.
117 Uphold me, and I will be delivered;
    I will always have regard for your decrees.
118 You reject all who stray from your decrees,
    for their delusions come to nothing.
119 All the wicked of the earth you discard like dross;
    therefore I love your statutes.
120 My flesh trembles in fear of you;
    I stand in awe of your laws.

ע Ayin

121 I have done what is righteous and just;
    do not leave me to my oppressors.
122 Ensure your servant’s well-being;
    do not let the arrogant oppress me.
123 My eyes fail, looking for your salvation,
    looking for your righteous promise.
124 Deal with your servant according to your love
    and teach me your decrees.
125 I am your servant; give me discernment
    that I may understand your statutes.
126 It is time for you to act, Lord;
    your law is being broken.
127 Because I love your commands
    more than gold, more than pure gold,
128 and because I consider all your precepts right,
    I hate every wrong path.

  1. Middle school can be so difficult for children. Prayers for the boy to find some equilibrium and to have open eyes, ears and a heart for the One who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. And others, of course.

  2. Middle school is a horrible stage, let’s face it. It’s amazing that any of us survive it.

    Prayers that Boy finds some special (and good) friends at school to help him better settle in there. And may he see some appealing examples of the faith among some of his peers who can also be mature and sensitive enough to come alongside and befriend him.

    Prayers for the church and its grounding in the true faith during this volatile and distracting time in the world and, especially, in our own nation. May pastors preach the Truth and may we as believers not become distracted from that with all the “noise.” -dj

  3. When my daughter started Middle School, the principal (who has four daughters) got up and said, “Our goal is for the kids to survive Middle School. Academics is not our priority.”

    All the moms in my circle, bristled at the indignity of not focusing on academics.

    But you know what? We barely hung in there with a teenager daughter, ourselves.

    After three boys, the girl was the hardest one of all to raise.

    I learned a lot, though. 🙂

  4. Just got the update, all’s well:

    ~ Words can’t express how grateful to everyone who prayed for my brother Brian’s salvation and double lung transplant. The surgery was successful and my brother has his life back – All the Glory goes to God. The doctors say if all goes well he can leave the hospital 7-10 days. It’s truly a miracle. Please continue to pray that his faith grows and that his body doesn’t reject his new lungs. ~
