Prayer Requests 11-2-23

It’s Thursday, so please remember to pray for Jo and the people of PNG.

Anyone else have something to share

Psalm 112

Praise the Lord.

   Blessed are those who fear the Lord,
    who find great delight in his commands.

Their children will be mighty in the land;
    the generation of the upright will be blessed.
Wealth and riches are in their houses,
    and their righteousness endures forever.
Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,
    for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous.
Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely,
    who conduct their affairs with justice.

Surely the righteous will never be shaken;
    they will be remembered forever.
They will have no fear of bad news;
    their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear;
    in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.
They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor,
    their righteousness endures forever;
    their horn will be lifted high in honor.

10 The wicked will see and be vexed,
    they will gnash their teeth and waste away;
    the longings of the wicked will come to nothing.

  1. We all have our ugly sides, no doubt. However, we are also called to encourage one another in love and good deeds. It is so difficult to know the right way to approach those who call themselves believers. Praying for wisdom for you, 6. I feel the same irritation against the believer who has again ignored my text message and who assured me his work would be finished in April. Exasperation is not surprising. If we are all afraid to address it, who will? I am grateful for those who have encouraged me to be more loving, graceful and in doing what is right.

  2. Nightingale and Boy need prayer. I don’t want to go into details here, but he is still having a very hard time, and Nightingale is beyond discouraged. It’s a serious situation.

  3. Praying, Kathaleena and Kizzie.

    Tomorrow during a break in my teaching schedule (3:45-4:15 Central Time) is when I plan to call one of the adults in Household 1. Your prayers before and around then are appreciated. I don’t think they have a landline, so I’m going to try calling the mom’s phone. I’m not sure I’m going to try reaching the dad if I don’t get a hold of the mom; he has a history, like Janice remarked yesterday, of being a control freak. He told me a couple years ago that the simplified version of a famous piece that his son was working on for a recital was too easy and that I’d better give him something more challenging. You won’t be surprised to learn that I was itching to ask the guy if he wanted his son to have a colossal crash-and-burn in front of an audience.

    Anyway, wisdom, patience, clarity, grace, no doormat business, whatever you think of to pray.

    Please also pray for my 6th Arrow. She was sick for a week, just joined us again for a family meal on Tuesday after having been down since the Tuesday before. She’s slowly recovering, but in a late-night conversation we had last night, it seems that she’s suffering from Seasonal Affective Disorder.

    Thank you.
