Good morning, all, from rainy just other side of the middle of nowhere. Way above freezing here, mid forties. A beautiful day in the neighborhood, when day arrives.
We are holding on to our snow with colder than normal temperatures. It felt so cold yesterday and will, no doubt, today. In January this will feel warm. 🙂
Cold this morning, warming up in probably 3 seconds from now the way this dry, desert weather pattern goes.
But today is supposed to be the last day of that for us, our beloved marine layer and coastal fog returns tomorrow. They’re saying, anyway.
This dry, arid weather pattern we get this time of year — that flips the wind flow from onshore coastal breezes to sending desert/mountain inland blasts in the opposite direction toward the coast — just wreaks havoc with your body, drying out sinuses, skin and making your hair stick out and up, full of static. Ooh, that should make for a nice DL photo that I’m taking tomorrow … but I’m hoping weather folks are right and it all is gone in another 24 hours.
We don’t get extreme weather here on the west coast, so we have to complain about something …
I made it to church on time today to work with the library team. We are processing new books for the children’s library. So nice to be back with this group and meet a few more people.
Winter is coming. You don’t want to be rummaging in a cold garage when it hits.
I just had to send son out in the cold wind and rain to rummage through a storage shed in search of more canning jars. He made it, without complaint. Nothing knew, he does not complain.
~ … Positively speaking, Christians strive to live at peace with others. God, after all, is a God of peace (Heb. 13:20). Christ gives us His peace (John 14:27). Through Christ, we now enjoy peace with God (Rom. 5:1). This reality ought to inform how we interact with others. Ours is a ministry of reconciliation (2 Cor. 5:11–21), and we are to be known by our love for others (John 13:34–35).
The Larger Catechism lists among the duties required in the sixth commandment “forbearance, readiness to be reconciled, patient bearing and forgiving of injuries, and requiting good for evil” (Q&A 135). Obeying this command means raising the threshold for what offends us, being quick to ask forgiveness and even quicker to forgive in light of how much we have been forgiven (Matt. 18:21–35), and recognizing that God is God and we are not.
All this requires humility, in imitation of the One who supremely humbled Himself (Phil. 2:1–11). It requires the killing of an overinflated sense of self (James 4:6). It requires treating others as we would want to be treated (Matt. 7:12). It requires patience (Gal. 5:22). It requires allowing our love for others to cover their sins against us (1 Peter 4:8). In sum, this means living peaceably with all (Rom. 12:18). … ~

Best lunch ever!
We arrived early and as the hostess seated us she asked if it was a special occasion. (I had a gift bag for R’s little girl) I told her that were meeting our 31 yr old foster baby! She then told us the she was once a foster mom with a private agency in town. I asked her the name of the agency….Bethany…same as us!! We chatted a bit before R and family arrived and it was such a lively beginning to a most lovely reunion! Thankful!!! Nj

Morning! It will be in the low 60’s here today. The snow is melting….
Today we get to have lunch with our precious foster girl and her family. Bursting with thankfulness!

The scan went fine. Blood work is back, that looks good. Tomorrow is the consult with Fox Chase Cancer Center.
