  2. Too cloudy here to see anything in the sky. Below normal temps with wind is our lot today. Good morning to all. Hope you have a good weekend.

Happy anniversary to Michelle and her hubbie!

  3. Morning! All of our hummers have gone. They are so entertaining.
Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs U!!❣️❣️

Chilly start to the day. Dogs are sad as their favorite playmate left to visit family back east. They are stuck with me and I’m not nearly as fun as he!!! But I feed them..they tolerate me.😊

  4. 46 years!

We’ve got a reservation at a Michelin starred restaurant for tomorrow night (blow the kids’ college fund! Oh, wait! They already graduated! LOL)

Meanwhile, we’re living happily ever after . . . off to prune shrubs before it gets too hot. 🙂

The romance never ends . . . we started celebrating on Thursday by a date to Costco to get flu shots. We were so overwhelmed with love we actually skipped the promised hot dog for lunch!

  5. Happy anniversary to the U’s! You’ve got it made.

I see the word “comet” and think, Oh, cleaning day!

I woke up to the lovely sound of the harbor fog horns, we’re socked in a bit this morning which is good, cooling everything down nicely.

And I’m waiting for the gardener and crew to arrive (in about 30 minutes) to roar into the massive, giant-tree trimming job. Went outside and got everything out of their way (I hope), flower pots, tog toys, hose (garden not stockings — weird ’cause they always specify NOT to wear “pantyhose” for the cataract surgery? Pantyhose are still a thing?).

So it’s going to be a LOUD day here, Abby will miss hanging out in “her” backyard. -dj

  6. So I have been up since 11:30pm yesterday…that’s when the dog’s favorite human decided to head out on his trip. I did make a pot of coffee at 6:30 am when the dogs woke. I tried throwing the chuck it to Pip but my first attempt resulted in the ball rolling down the drive (which has a hill) and it rolled across the road into the neighbor’s property. Pip could not find it….I had to cross the road and walk down their hill (barefooted) to retrieve the ball. They have a nice garden of thistle growing over there…hard on the feet!!
I tried again and kept hitting the trees with the ball which sent it flying back towards my face! Pip is tired now as she ran huge circles trying to find where I threw the ball…I’m done in already!! I might need togs instead of dogs….Lord have mercy on this day!!

  7. Oh NJ, thanks for the laugh (at your expense!). I can empathize!

They’re whacking the heck out of these trees (which is good), lots o noise and branches everywhere, they’re hauling them down to the curb where they’re loading them into a tuck, I guess they have a shredder at their disposal. -dj

  8. off to another soccer game. Then I hope to bring the two littles back here to go swimming. Supposed to get up to 90 today. But I also realize that plans change frequently.

  9. Happy Anniversary, Michelle and Robert!

Don’t knock a date at Costco, folks! My last date with Hubby consisted of doing a little shopping at Costco, then having lunch there. On the way home, we stopped for soft serve ice cream at our favorite place.

  10. Abby won’t come out of her crate. Workers are on lunch break and I was going to walk Abby, but she won’t let me leash her up.

I love this dog but she has some of the strangest habits that are just hard to break.

  11. We walked Sweetie the pit bull today. It was a nice outing on the cross country track for our county schools. I keep thinking we might see a track practice or event, but we never do.

Bro and I watched The Blind Side this afternoon. It made me tear up at several spots because of the contrasts between the haves and have nots, the things so many of us take for granted. It’s fun to revisit our old dvd collection. Bro enjoyed Flyboys yesterday, but I did not see that one because of chores calling my name.

  12. Gardeners finished up, there were a couple things I wanted them to do before leaving (they hadn’t cleared all the dead leaves off the roof and patio overhang, so I provided the contractor bags (had a box of those on the patio) and they did that before leaving.

Trees are, well, ugly, of course. But they always look awful when the limbs are hacked off, they’ll get leaves soon enough.

It was a long, expensive day for me and hard working day for all the them. Glad it’s over. Just fed Abby, will get her out for a quick walk. She’s glad to have access to “her” backyard again.

  13. The comet can be seen well above the eastern horizon, near Venus in the morning and Mars in the evening. How that works, I have no idea! But is not far from the moon in the mornings. Not really northeast anymore.
