Prayer Requests 6-8-23

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget to pray for The Gambia.

Anyone else have something to share?

Psalm 124

A song of ascents. Of David.

If the Lord had not been on our side—
    let Israel say—
if the Lord had not been on our side
    when people attacked us,
they would have swallowed us alive
    when their anger flared against us;
the flood would have engulfed us,
    the torrent would have swept over us,
the raging waters
    would have swept us away.

Praise be to the Lord,
    who has not let us be torn by their teeth.
We have escaped like a bird
    from the fowler’s snare;
   the snare has been broken,
    and we have escaped.
Our help is in the name of the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven and earth.

  1. Mrs B’s foot surgery yesterday went well, but she is in a lot of pain despite strong medicine and has not slept. Waiting for help from the doctor’s office.

  2. Thankful to hear the surgery was a success…the pain not so much. Asking the Lord to bring relief and quick healing… thanks for the update.

    Kathaleena how are the antibiotics working for your husband. Continuing to pray …

  3. Praying for Mrs B, Kevin.
    Lord, I ask you to lift Mrs B’s pain, and make any discomfort bearable while she awaits full relief and healing. And I thank you that even our lightest sufferings and pains have purpose in you and work for the benefit of your kingdom in us. Help us participate in the redemption of those sufferings by our responses to them. And strengthen Kevin for his role in Mrs B’s recovery and growth and well-being through this time of continued healing. In Jesus name.

  4. Anti-biotics seem to be working well. Pain has gone way down, although he is still taking a bit of medication for that.

    Praying for the others mentioned today and other days. I am also thanking the Lord for the gutters that are now being put on the house. That has been a long time coming.

  5. Lots of troubles over here today, but this is the most tragic:

    Church Friends’ tween-aged grandson was riding with the other grandmother when a tree fell on the car.

    The boy was killed.

    Devastating.

    It’s been a tough year for this family. Some of you will remember about two years ago, the boy’s sister was thrown from a horse into a brick wall.

    She’s okay, but is was a long scary recovery.

    Please pray. I’m having a hard time with this, myself.

  6. Oh my goodness M that is tragic! Praying for the family and all those who are impacted by his sudden passing. And praying for the grandmother who was with him at the time…this must just be devastating to her especially. 😞
