  1. I spooked a mamma duck off her nest yesterday while walking the path down to our fishing spot. When she flew off I looked down, saw these, snapped a pic, and moved on.

Mamma was back on the nest when we left, so we took a different route out, so as not to disturb her again. 🙂

  2. The smell of freshness, from the needed rain, is a blessing this morning. We were very dry and in high fire danger. It will be too hot today, however.

Jo, your dilemma with fixing or assembling things, reminded me of my recent attempt putting a new hose on a reel. I actually ended up cutting one finger with the broken nail on the other hand. That is when my husband came to see what I was up to, and I gladly surrendered the job to him. It is so frustrating when you have to do some of these things with no help. Simple things can become quite difficult.

  3. Glad you were considerate of Mama duck, AJ! You’re a good fellow♡

Art and I went out for dinner on Memorial Day. Two places we tried for were closed, but the third was open. We actually went to three different towns within the metro area, Chamblee, Brookhaven, and Tucker. Art is making the most of being off the vegan diet😀 My digestive track can’t handle legumes any more, and I can’t cook two different diets for us.

  4. Those eggs are the prettiest colour! I’m going to show my 9 year old candy bag maker – her favourite colour is robin’s egg blue but I like this lighter version better.

I’d be celebrating not doing a vegan diet, too!! 🙂

Have a great day everyone – we have 3 schools coming in today about 100 students in total – if you remember, please pray for our staff and the students that they will see Jesus here.

  5. Baby ducks a’coming!

We had a mama duck and her ducklings shut down the port bridge some years ago. They were up there wandering when a police officer noticed them, pulled over, got out to stop traffic until they could get across … but it was complicated, a long drop below, so they ‘herded’ them toward the end (where’s a border collie when you need one?) and found a wildlife guy who showed up to figure out how to catch them …

    Fun story.

  6. We actually have some sunshine this morning. Still in the 60s all week this week though.

Caught up with a neighbor a couple blocks away I hadn’t seen in a while (but talked to on the phone several weeks back). I walk Abby by her place at the end of every day, she’s spotted us going by, so yesterday she came out to chat. She’s 92 and has bad knees, but has long been active in town on various causes, including the through the Episcopal Church, YWCA and historical society. Nice to catch up in person, I’ll have to give her a call more often.

  7. I just got home from a nice walk with my friend and the pit bull she is sitting, a former rescue she saved and placed named Sweetie. She is the sweetest dog and almost got in my lap. We put our heads together in a face hug. I love that dog!

We walked on the county school’s cross country track in my neighborhood. We found a part I had never been on so that was neat.

  8. Well you all know what day it is… as Chas would have reminded us “if you have something to do in May you had better get with it!” I can scarcely believe how quickly this year is flying by!
