  1. First NYC and Philly, now it’s L.A.’s turn….

US cities are being ravaged by drugs, homelessness, and open air drug markets, while the Dems who run these cities do little to stop any of them.

“Xylazine, a Flesh-eating ‘Zombie Drug,’ Now Hitting Los Angeles Streets”

    https://legalinsurrection.com/2023/05/xylazine-a-flesh-eating-zombie-dug-now-hitting-los-angeles-streets/

“The last time Legal Insurrection covered xylazine, a horse tranquilizer known to slam the nervous system and destroy skin tissue, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer had announced that the substance was linked to dozens of deaths across New York.

It turns out xylazine is now hitting the West Coast, especially the Los Angeles area.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials launched a new program to track the troubling prevalence of the substance, which is a sedative typically used by veterinarians to anesthetize animals.

Also known as “tranq” or “tranq dope” on the streets, xylazine has become increasingly present in the illicit drug supply. The drug can be cooked down into a powder form and mixed with illicit opioids such as heroin and fentanyl or pressed into counterfeit pills or sedatives.

The “zombie drug” nickname stems from the substance’s known effect of rotting the skin.

Growing concerns over the increasing prevalence of xylazine in L.A. have law enforcement officials and addiction specialists extremely concerned.

“I’ve never seen anything like what we’re dealing with right now,” said Cary Quashen, an addiction expert.”

“One of the most significant concerns associated with xylazine at this point is that it is increasingly being mixed with the opioid fentanyl. The combination can have devastating effects, and overdoses do not respond well to opioid treatments.

Researchers say that fentanyl, which has largely replaced heroin in many markets, is powerful but fast acting. The xylazine gives it “legs,” extending the feeling of sedation by slowing one’s heart rate, breathing and blood pressure. Many users don’t realize their drugs contain xylazine, which can knock them out and make them susceptible to falls, robberies or rapes.

Because it is not an opioid, xylazine does not respond to naloxone, the drug commonly used to revive people who are overdosing from opioids.

…The drug is used by veterinarians to sedate animals, particularly cattle and horses, but has never been approved for use by humans. It popped up in illegal drugs in Puerto Rico in the early 2000s, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration. Over the last five years, it spread to the Northeast, particularly Philadelphia, where it has infiltrated more than 90 percent of street drugs, according to the Center for Forensic Science Research & Education, which posts an online early warning system about the latest drugs.

The DEA says its labs have now detected xylazine in drug seizures in 48 states. The number of xylazine-positive drug samples in the South, including Florida, rose by nearly 200 percent from 2020 to 2021, the agency reported.”

  2. “America’s state media: The blackout on Biden corruption is truly ‘Pulitzer-level stuff’”

    https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/4003066-americas-state-media-the-blackout-on-biden-corruption-is-truly-pulitzer-level-stuff/

“This week, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) tried to do the impossible. After he and his colleagues presented a labyrinth of LLC shell companies and accounts used to funnel as much as $10 million to Biden family members, Donalds tried to induce the press to show some interest in the massive corruption scandal. “For those in the press, this easy pickings & Pulitzer-level stuff right here,” he pleaded.

The response was virtually immediate. Despite showing nine Biden family members allegedly receiving funds from corrupt figures in Romania, China and other countries, The New Republic quickly ran a story headlined “Republicans Finally Admit They Have No Incriminating Evidence on Joe Biden.”

For many of us, it was otherworldly. A decade ago, when then-Vice President Joe Biden was denouncing corruption in Romania and Ukraine and promising action by the United States, massive payments were flowing to his son Hunter Biden and a variety of family members, including Biden grandchildren.

Last year, I wrote a column about how the media were preparing a difficult “scandal implosion” to protect the Bidens and themselves from the backlash from disclosures of this influence peddling operation.

The brilliance of the Biden team was that it invested the media in this scandal at the outset by burying the laptop story as “Russian disinformation” before the election. That was, of course, false, but it took two years for most major media outlets to admit that the laptop was authentic.

But the media then ignored what was on that “authentic laptop.” Hundreds of emails detailed potentially criminal conduct and raw influence peddling in foreign countries.

When media outlets such as the New York Post confirmed the emails, the media then insisted that there was no corroboration of the influence peddling payments and no clear proof of criminal conduct. It entirely ignored the obvious corruption itself.

Now that the House has released corroboration in actual money transfers linking many in the Biden family, the media is insisting that this is no scandal because there is no direct proof of payments to Joe Biden.

Putting aside that this is only the fourth month of an investigation, the media’s demand of a direct payment to President Biden is laughably absurd. The payments were going to his family, but he was the object of the influence peddling.

The House has shown millions of dollars going to at least nine Bidens like dividends from a family business. As a long-time critic of influence peddling among both Republicans and Democrats, I have never seen the equal of the Bidens.

The whole purpose of influence peddling is to use family members as shields for corrupt officials. Instead of making a direct payment to a politician, which could be seen as a bribe, you can give millions to his or her spouse or children.

Moreover, these emails include references to Joe Biden getting a 10 percent cut of one Chinese deal. It also shows Biden associates warning not to use Joe Biden’s name but to employ code names like “the Big Guy.” At the same time, the president and the first lady are referenced as benefiting from offices and receiving payments from Hunter.

Indeed, Hunter complains that his father is taking half of everything that he is raking in.

None of that matters. The New York Times ran a piece headlined, “House Republican Report Finds No Evidence of Wrongdoing by President Biden.” That is putting aside evidence against all the family members around Joe Biden. It also ignored that other evidence clearly shows Biden lied about his family not receiving Chinese funds or that he never had any knowledge of his son’s business dealings. ”

The media is as corrupt as Biden.

  3. He’s right, and several people really do owe the man an apology for buying the baseless slanders against him.

All because they wanted it to be true.

  4. Our trash media, who gleefully ran with and pushed these lies to elect Biden, still refuses to accept reality.

Remember these frauds gave themselves Pulitzers for a story that was never true.

    But we remember their lies.

That’s the truth. But these frauds have no decency, so don’t hold your breathe.

  8. The HIll article is interesting. The author makes a claim that the media is ignoring all the evidence of influence-peddling yet all he does is quote the House Reps. It would be nice if a journalist actually laid out the actual story. So I read one of the Republican bank memos. There’s quite a few weasel words – purports, appears to show, etc. There’s no doubt the cmttee has come circumstantial evidence and some members of the Biden family were paid but there’s no quid quo pro and no indication Joe Biden was using his office. Most (but not all) money transfers occurred when Biden was a private citizen on the celebrity speaking circuit. The story so far appears to be Republicans hoping to throw enough shade so that Biden appears dirty in 2024. Even Fox didn’t buy the story – Steve Doocy questioned Comer’s claim of evidence linking Biden.

The laptop is also a non-story. The Trump campaign broke the chain of custody and now there’s no way to determine who’s files are in the laptop. In addition, although the laptop became the repair shop’s after Hunter didn’t pick it up, the software license , the passwords, etc were not the property of the repair shop. In order to resell an abandoned laptop, a repair shop has to wipe it clean and not keep the software. A repair shop may check for illegal materials in which case it would have to be delivered to the police immediately. This didn’t occur.

An interesting development in this mess is the disappearance of their whistleblowers. Comer admitted 9 of 10 informants were either in court, in jail or just plain missing. Seriously — how does one lose its informants? The whole was charade or as some put it, the emperor (Comer) has no clothes. Even FOX was shocked.

  9. I read the excerpts of the report provided by the Greg Price tweet.

    Here’s what I get out of it;

The Steele dossier was commissioned by Republican stragetists but Trump won the primary prior to it being used. Steele then turned around and sold it to Clinton. According to the excerpts, the Clinton campaign team designed a plan to use it against Trump. Clinton then met with some of her VP adivsers to discuss this plan. A bit later, as VP, Clinton had a meeting with intelligence to discuss Russian interference with the election i.e. breach of Democratic computer files. Now if I read this right Comey was at both meetings??

Maybe I missed it but nowhere in the excerpts did the report assess the validity of the dossier.

Comey made a real mess of that election then. After he met with Clinton, he announced in late October-early November that he was re-opening his investigation into the emails.

I’m not sure why this is all relevant now. Both parties don’t like Comey and blame him for different messes. However, this report seems designed to validate Trump’s bruised ego and nothing more.

The Times would have to give the Pultzer back in it knowingly made up the facts but it appears they took the Steele dossier at face value. And, correct me if I’m wrong, but the report doesn’t disprove the Steele dossier.

  12. For the 5th or 6th time…

Clinton, she even paid a fine for how she funded it.

Rs had paid Fusion for OPPO research on Trump, but that was not the Steele Dossier.

“Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee have agreed to pay $113,000 to settle a Federal Election Commission investigation into whether they violated campaign finance law by misreporting spending on research that eventually became the infamous Steele dossier.

That’s according to documents sent Tuesday to the Coolidge Reagan Foundation, which had filed an administrative complaint in 2018 accusing the Democrats of misreporting payments made to a law firm during the 2016 campaign to obscure the spending.”

  13. NJ — I’m amused by the timing also. In addition her assertions resemble a Borat skit and previous cash for pardons assertions elsewhere. On the other hand, I’m not surprised. Rudy is a drunken sleaze.

AJ – that’s all. Clinton paid a fine? In general, I’m correct about the Steele dossier. In addition, I’m correct that the current report does not contest nor deny the allegations, it just confirms how the Clinton campaign tried to use the allegations. All the report confirms is what we already knew – Clinton wanted to use the Steele dossier. She didn’t because she was pre-empted by Comey reexamining her emails. But Trump’s feelings were hurt so this report was issued.

Meanwhile, the Republicans can’t seem to find their whistleblowers or their whistleblowers are in jail which leads to questions about their credibility. Can you still take the House representatives seriously?

“FBI Offered To Pay Steele $1M For Anti-Trump Evidence, Paid Possible Russian Spy Despite Knowing His Info Was Bad

The FBI had evidence that Danchenko was a Russian spy, and Danchenko could provide no evidence that Trump was tied to Russia. It paid Danchenko anyway to try to mount a flimsy case against Trump, the Durham report found.”

    https://www.dailywire.com/news/fbi-offered-to-pay-steele-1m-for-anti-trump-evidence-paid-possible-russian-spy-despite-knowing-his-info-was-bad

“The FBI offered to pay Christopher Steele, the author of the infamous anti-Trump “dossier,” up to $1 million for evidence linking Donald Trump to Russia, and paid Steele’s primary subsource hundreds of thousands of dollars even after the source was unable to provide evidence for any of his claims, according to a report from Special Counsel John Durham.

Embattled FBI agent Brian Auten travelled to Rome to meet with Steele on October 3, 2016, and made the offer despite knowing that his dossier relied primarily on one person, or “subsource.” The Bureau then paid that “subsource,” Igor Danchenko, $220,000 even after Danchenko was unable to provide evidence for a single one of his claims.

More shockingly, the FBI had significant evidence that Danchenko was, himself, tied to Russian intelligence. It had closed a counterintelligence investigation into him in 2011 only because agents mistakenly believed he had left the country.

The FBI investigated Danchenko as a possible Russian spy from 2009 to 2011 after a colleague at the Brookings Institution, the left-leaning think tank where he worked, told the FBI that Danchenko raised the prospect of paying him for classified information if the colleague joined the Obama administration. A second Brookings employee also told the FBI he suspected Danchenko of being “connected to Russian intelligence.”

  15. Even CNN is admitting the obvious.

CNN Calls Durham Report “Devastating To The FBI”…

“Rather ironic considering CNN’s role in the collusion hoax.”

You can see it’s killing Tapper to have to admit they slandered Trump.
