Good morning in the tree top! Or, “Top of the morning,” from the birds!
In trying to weed and find my small prickly pear cactus by the mailbox, with my gloved hand I found it, and one tiny prickle got through the glove and into my thumb. Anyone feeling the pain of empathy?😀
In the grand scheme, it is the tiniest of irritants and could have been so much worse. I threw away the gloves because they were full of prickles and had already seen their best days.
Recommendations for garden gloves that are thorn proof?
Good rainy morning! Lots of flooding happening in town I hear. Seems all that over building the commissioners approved doesn’t bode well when we have these type of weather events!
I love that bird tree up there!! The twisty branches will soon be enveloped with full leafing and summer will be here! And the birds will have a hiding place!
Janice we ordered a pack of blue work gloves that have a rubber grip and they work well in the garden. But we don’t have many prickly plants to deal with.
Probably welders gloves would work for cactus. I figure since they can keep extremely hot sparks from getting to your hands they might stop small thorns.
Thanks for that idea, Peter. I only have this one small cactus plant that we brought from Art’s parent’s home. I do at other times need protection from thorns as I pull out invasive vines.
I need to be especially careful now since the lymph node surgery can possibly cause lymphadema from boo-boos on the skin.
I have to be careful of the CAT, too.😀
Good morning, all. Another beautiful day here. My dad has been up and checking since three. I got up at five, turned the light on for him, lit the fire, turned on the tv for him, but he has not come out yet! He may have been out to check more when I was outside retrieving the game cameras, or out to the pantry or whatever. Guess I will need to go fetch him.
I’m sitting on Tybee Beach with gale force winds making me consider going inside!
But a friend just posted this on FB—and I had to share:
I thought it was cool so I have to share… before Rod Stewart sang “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You” he shared that the song was NOT about a woman but rather about GOD and to really listen to the lyrics:
Have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you there’s no one else above you
You fill my heart with gladness
Take away all my sadness
Ease my troubles, that’s what you do
For the morning sun and all it’s glory
Greets the day with hope and comfort, too
You fill my life with laughter
And somehow, you make it better
Ease my troubles, that’s what you do
There’s a love that’s divine
And it’s yours and it’s mine
Like the sun
And at the end of the day
We should give thanks and pray
To the one, to the one
Looks like the rapture after Mumsee posted! Where did everyone go?
I had PT, grocery shopping at Kroger and Publix, a long walk, and then home things to take care of. I fell asleep on the couch watching tv so now am getting to real bed.

You can ponder that while reading these.

This makes getting a snack at an airport more convenient. You might share this hack with friends and family who fly.

Garden gloves, I try to wear the insulated leather due to all the thorns. But mine disappeared so am trying some sort of fancy nylon things. Ouch!

I was going to also say leather, work-glove styles. They’re usually sold in the gardening sections of Home Depots.

It will be filled with surprises finding out who is there.

I suspect many will be surprised to see me there. But our God and His Sacrifice is bigger than our rebellion.

Reading Judges right now. Samson, anyone? God uses so many people we would put our noses up at. Gives me hope.
