Prayer Requests 4-21-23

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 90

A prayer of Moses the man of God.

Lord, you have been our dwelling place
    throughout all generations.
Before the mountains were born
    or you brought forth the whole world,
    from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

You turn people back to dust,
    saying, “Return to dust, you mortals.”
A thousand years in your sight
    are like a day that has just gone by,
    or like a watch in the night.
Yet you sweep people away in the sleep of death—
    they are like the new grass of the morning:
In the morning it springs up new,
    but by evening it is dry and withered.

We are consumed by your anger
    and terrified by your indignation.
You have set our iniquities before you,
    our secret sins in the light of your presence.
All our days pass away under your wrath;
    we finish our years with a moan.
10 Our days may come to seventy years,
    or eighty, if our strength endures;
   yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow,
    for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
11 If only we knew the power of your anger!
    Your wrath is as great as the fear that is your due.
12 Teach us to number our days,
    that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

13 Relent, Lord! How long will it be?
    Have compassion on your servants.
14 Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,
    that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
15 Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
    for as many years as we have seen trouble.
16 May your deeds be shown to your servants,
    your splendor to their children.

17 May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us;
    establish the work of our hands for us—
    yes, establish the work of our hands.

  2. Prayers for the children to be well-grounded in Jesus to see them through all that is ahead. Prayers for you all in dealing with heartbreaks on so many levels, Mumsee. Thankful for the joy your father brings in the midst of the sorrows.

  3. Prayer for son in the middle east who is struggling with depression after receiving a dear john message via listening through their joint Alexa acct.

    That is a weird thought that people around the world get to listen in through our many technologies, to the details of our lives in our own homes.

  4. Although Nightingale has done her best to provide her son with a stable home life, I can see the repercussions of the situation with X in Boy. 😦

    Speaking of Boy, lately he and I have not been connecting too well. He is 12, and thinks he’s cool, and can sometimes act disrespectfully towards me.

    But this afternoon, I got an inkling that our connection is indeed still there when he confided something in me that he was afraid to tell his mom. (He got a lunch detention from a strict teacher, for “zoning out” and not turning to the correct page in time – at least, that’s what he says.) Then he asked my advice about whether or not he should tell her. I told him that I thought that it was the right thing to do, and that she would not be too angry about it.

    Just a little thing, a brief conversation, but it was encouraging to me.

  5. Thanks all.

    Had a pretty rough day today, issues with getting my scripts filled too. But they took the catheter out and the dr. dealt with the pharmacy incompetence, and I will get my last one filled in the morning.

    Again, thanks.
